May 10, 2016 40. Constantly Hating Is this even rap? All I know is that it's a spellbiding intro to one of the most psychedllic hip hop albums this decade. n----- I'm a crack addcit. 39. 2 Cups Stuffed Literally the first Thug song that ever clicked for me. After John Daniel (rapper friend of lasik/wpg etc) kept posting it on Facebook in 2014 I finally gave it a try and got a surprising dose of punk, not hip hop. And I was instantly more curious that Danny Glover had ever made me. Much to @Mikey's relief tho, the aesthetic Thug had for the 1017 era makes even my most favorite tracks from then peak at around here...I just enjoy the more evolved Thug that's come into his own since then. 38. Strange Things Brooding, wavering rumination. About everything from how lean makes dudes do strange things to how his girl keeps it fr fr for real. From having 50 grams in his longjohns, to how the world is really gay for taking the good young. Free Tay Tay. And I'm so tired of hearing bout prison, I really hope I make it. 37. Makaveli Have to keep this a bit short because Im meeting a friend for lunch but I could write an essay on this song. When I saw "beast" on the SS2 tracklist I was so excited to hear this finished but alas we weren't so lucky. This, along with The Promise, need to be used for something. It's a f---ing shame if they aren't. Spit-fire delivery and a myriad of flows, but, this time, storytelling thrown in cuz why not. Thug goes on about how his girl never remembers how she hopped on his wood and caught a splinter, but always keeps track of when he played around on Tindr. In his own cartoonish fashion he succintly breaks down the dynamic between him and his girl. But the best part is is when he throws all that lucidity aside to prophetically claim that he went from "rapping to reggae," or that whole bridge where he does an ode to Wayne's Mrs. Officer or sings about driving around Atlanta. CHOPPA CITTTTTTYYYYYYY 36. That's All One of the best/and now underrated leaks. Weird how a song that starts out about how Thug just gets his girl to give him top, thats all, while she f---s all his buddies, ends up being a genuine love song. I might eat it, I might beat it, like Mike Ike. Treat that p---- tempurpedic and call it a night. She compliment my fly and aint talkin no flight. Therefore I love her. She remembers everything about him, and in an age of fleeting familiarity that's clearly something he cherishes. By the end of the track he's threatening to k--- her if she doesn't accept his proposal.
