I love that a bunch of neck bearded losers (not people like Skippy, but older guys who should know better) are acting as if this is so complex and unknowable. If you're about to sleep with a girl, no matter if she's been drinking or not, it's almost always painfully obvious whether she has her wits about her or not. You're not looking for poker tells. It's pretty much unmistakable.

Gibbs was arrested in France for a r--- that allegedly took place in Austria last year. Apparently he's going to be extradited today/soon. Based on his Twitter it looks like he's been aware of a warrant for him in Austria; I don't know enough about EU law to know whether French officials having the authority to book him is unusual.

I know Gibbs a little bit, and especially since his daughter's birth he's been one of the most level-headed, empathetic people I know, despite the image people might have based on his music. I hope this isn't true, but as we know, every person accused of r--- has acquaintances who say that.

for example young boys are socialized to believe that when a girl says no she really means yes, that dating is a "game" and both males and females are "players". Boys are taught that females understand this same concept when it comes to sex and that the ultimate goal is to "score", "go all the way" .....im sure as a male these are terms youve heard growing up referencing sex to being a game.


how this applies is that boys have the understanding that a girl is just "playing the game" when she says no. not genuinely expressing that she doesnt want the action. females are not socialized with that same game mentality when it comes to sex. so in that instance males are taught r--- is okay...only its disguised as "playing a game"

by definition a consensual agreement means that both parties are in their right state of mind....heres an example similar to how problematic it is saying a woman or man is giving consent if she/he is intoxicated/have been drinking/doing drugs, etc


if youre worth a billion dollars and you get drunk with a "friend" who manages to get you to consent to signing over all your money to them cant you agree that decision was not consensual? or will you then say "oh well i agreed even though i was s--- faced ??!" your decision to sign over your money is questionable at that point because you werent in the right state of mind....same with the women and men who have brought up r--- allegations.

srsly ...that book is awesome if you want to really understand r---.

You're being dense and imprecise with the scenarios you're posing. (EDIT: You do so in your subsequent post too when you say "if both parties consent 100% of their own accord....") Saying "drunk" doesn't mean anything, especially when you disregard how a woman got to be drunk. When one party is not able to consent, or chooses not to consent, it's r---. When there's an imbalance in mental capacity, it's r---, even if the woman ostensibly says "yes" or whatever.

Also, you know what dude? I felt the same way you do now when I was 16. I know that sounds smug and condescending, but I'm trying to fill in gaps in your understanding of this, and I'm getting snippy with you because you keep reiterating yourself despite me repeatedly telling you the problem with your argument. Why are you being combative about this? Why are you, as a young dude who's presumably going to be in college or around college kids, not willing to listen to someone else? Why are you being so bullish about something you don't really understand?

Look I know you're on your cute little "anti-PC" kick but there absolutely exist elements in our society elements that:

-- Teach men that r--- is acceptable under certain circumstances/fail to educate them properly
-- Dissuade women from coming forward when they're r---d

And a whole host of other contributing factors.
