Australia had a mass shooting and introduced gun laws, haven't had one since. common sense. "gun laws wont stop them!!" oh okay, dw just do nothing then its all good, just let it happen, don't take steps to prevent.

Also, the notion that gun laws don't matter because people can obtain them on ~~***" "the black market" ***~~~ is reductive and, frankly, stupid. The secondary market for guns is so huge because it's so easy to get them from manufacturer to consumer.

I mean, dude, this entire post is wrong. Even if handguns are subsequently purchased through third parties, they make it to Chicago legally. And of course local municipal gun laws don't work, for that reason.

You want to look at hard data about the relationship between gun prevalence and gun crimes? Look at countries that have federal gun control vs. the US. That's the test.

Nearly half of the illegal weapons obtained from the streets of Chicago trace back to out of county/state locations. Chicago isn't an island. It's not inside a vaccum. Gun laws work when they are enacted and enforced on a federal level. We've seen it throughout Europe. The whole "gun culture" argument is so weak.

Also, enacting common sense gun control legislation won't reduce gun violence in the United States now. But 10,15, 20 years down the line? That's when the benefit will be clear. As you pointed out, there's tons of firearms already in circulation in the United States. If we tighten the loop holes that allow weapons to get on the street, we won't have as many.
