The fact that you could read his posts in that thread and think he has "no personal bias" toward a race he describes as "f----- up people" is astonishly dumb.

how is discriminating against muslims different from discriminating against someone who was born and raised ignorant and doesn't understand the fact that peoples value isn't based on their skin color? or what if racial bias is actually part of their religious beliefs? i.e. Creators?

See, this is the type of actual racism that shouldn't be allowed on the board.

This whole tangent started when @Genghis Stan mistook an innocuous rhetorical device for actual racism. I was using a goofy, inoffensive word and describing "white-on-white crime" to point out the absurdity and hypocrisy of JMG and people like him. That he would turn around and cite my post as the problem here is a profound case of missing the point.

He's a rather conservative Canadian who doesn't have knowledge of the history of the country and can't fathom why African Americans perform so poorly economically compared to their peers, without understading first the historical backlash that they've had suffered throughout the course of the years.

Yeah, English and Religion.

I honestly see no correlation between English and politics but MAYBE you can make an argument for the latter (which I highly doubt).

On the flip side tho you have Wisconsin v. Yoder... amish people are religiously protected from sending their kids to school. bunch of hicks but... ok! so i get your point, but there's rly more to consider. im all for different cultures/values... but no one is entitled to s--- on other people and pretend it's their upbringing.

So imo anyway, you can't hide behind religion if you're being a POS. It's obviously contentious, and we won't solve it here, but where's the line? Some religions forbid interracial marriage. Does the fact the government allows that mean their "rights" are being violated?

This is obviously imprecise and I know you're smart enough to see how it is. Sure it's technically a choice to leave or stay in a religion, but it's a deeply-rooted cultural thing, especially for non-Anglo Saxon people (although it is for some of them, too). Choosing to foster racist beliefs is not the same. Yes, religions can be hateful and ignorant. I'm not disputing that. I'm not religious myself.
