    Game is even weirder in that he usually rips off whoever is featured on the song which is just awkward but you're right he does have better music, oddly

    I don't agree with the last part - don't really care about the optics of "being real" which is why I never cared about, like, the Rick Ross CO stuff. If you're making good music that's what I care about. But you're right about the rest. Desiigner and especially Travis Scott are so beyond the pale in terms of biting that they don't even have their own voice. A Travis Scott song is indistinguishable from a song by the artist he's ripping off - except it's almost always far, far worse

    Game has the same problem but has far better music so it's a bit more forgivable

    I dunno whether this is in line with what MIC was saying or not, but I care about being ~real~ in the sense that the creative ideas are ultimately coming from the artist.

    Liking Desiigner and liking Travis Scott go hand and hand, you like lames pretending to be something they're not and copying other people's styles. That's okay I guess if their songs really sound good to you but that was never something I listened to music for. Being real comes first

    1. MIC said "if their songs sound good to you," which they don't to me, even on the most surface level.
    2. In my post immediately after that, I clarified my feelings, which are that: to be great, or even merely good, art has to have some spark of originality or creativity.

    Travis Scott's music has none of that, but it also sounds atrocious.
