Enjoy both, own copies of both. I think I prefer ---. Sometimes hearing songs or albums live changes my perception of those songs. Before I downloaded ---, I saw Danny perform a lot of those songs live in Brooklyn. That performance resonated with me and made me appreciate that particular project more. Old is dope as well but I don't have that live experience to go with that album.

idk maybe its just me but for --- he sounded so desperate and the whole f---ing album was just boiling over with failed mixtapes and failed attempts at making it and stuff like the hybrid that's like yeah it's cool but it's not making anyone stop and turn their heads, and it was culminating to the point where it came out in 30 at the very end of the album, and along with that the beats, esp from the time were just f---ing nuts and so unique and different and his delivery is literally 11/10



OLD just seemed complacent
i remember ODB dropping


and beoing so hype for a follow up about how his life changed and his grind paid off but a lot of the album [not all, but a lot of it] just sounded complacent and appeasing to me. i was really, really disappointed by OLD tbqh after being a huge fan of --- and seeking out his features and s--- after getting put on to him, OLD feels like a placeholder of an album for me, and I'm really hopeful AE will be that next step in his career from ---

@Hollywood Satire told me he read that the original ODB album got scrapped cause he used producers that used old 70s psych sampls that didnt get cleared and it got shifted into what old became

imagine coming out of --- with an album full of ODBs i can't f---ing fathom it

TBH i think ODB is better than anything on OLD


I feel like dip was an attempt to recapture ODB but it just didnt work and it really felt, at least to me, like danny saying "f---, we can't use my singles from ODB due to sample reasons, how can we re-purpose this into something we can use?" and just sorta releasing dip without any rhyme or reason

yea i could see dip being an attempt at recreating ODB, i think the new album will definitely be more in ODB lane give the singles we got besides rolling stone which was kinda generic
