So verbalizing is my strength. Vocabulary, reading, etc. But I can't f---ing spell. I'm not saying that in a "omg I'm so bad lololol" white girl way, but bad as in being a far below average speller.

My problem is I can't understand how to spell a word if the phonetics don't clearly spell it for me.

So as dumb a question this might be, is there like a formula to spelling? How do you personally think you get the correct spellings of words?

Just look at a word, try to memorise it and say it out loud a few times. That usually helped me back in the day.

And when you say it out loud put some emphasis on the syllable break up.

EG:

Mathematics --> Ma-the-ma-tics, say it aloud a few times.
