Nov 5, 2016 Reading threads about "Just Lose It" and listening to it makes me wonder if the world was getting tired of immature MTV humor and subsequently changed Eminem into a pop artist. I mean the world couldn't substantiate on that type of humor forever, not even Relapse sold that good. I just wanna know.
Nov 5, 2016 The problem with the "MTV humour" is that although at the time it creates a buzz and gives attention due to the shots at pop culture and celebrities it makes the music suffer in the long term as the references - which are so heavy in a lot of his prime music - make the music feel very outdated as time goes on. I don't know whether I'd directly attribute Encore to "pop Eminem" though. No artist with half a brain would want to emulate that garbage again.
Nov 5, 2016 Just lose it was great Certifications[edit] Country Certification Sales certified Australia[51] Platinum 70,000 Denmark[52] Platinum 60,000 New Zealand[53] Platinum 15,000 Norway[54] Gold 5,000 United States[55] Gold 500,000 Numbers don't lie (Jayz words not mine) Encore sold 28 Millions I don't care if you think it's immature or druggy, I enjoy the flow, the beats, and everything I wouldn't mind Encore 2 , actually I will be so hyped, at least his Encore bars doesn't make you waste the internet bell and go to rap genuis and music videos to understand the scheme
Nov 5, 2016 ehh i'm thinking it's more towards Relapse being a flop (compared to the expectations for it) that did it. brought him to a point where he was sick of the old patterns he was following with all his work, his whole image, like everything about himself; as a result, he wanted to change himself, branch out, promote himself even more widely. starting with his 2nd "comeback" record Recovery; pop was the safest, most calculated route to take, he decide to roll with that so the album could make a boom, guess he's been rolling with it ever since
Nov 5, 2016 Relapse is entirely the reason why pop Eminem exists. The label gave Em his chance to create a good comeback project on his own, he f----- it up and they had to interfere, and his career has been in their hands since.
Nov 5, 2016 Encore is interestingly bad at least, it's amazing to look back on how self-destructive one album could be and how low a highly revered artist can sink due to something as simple as drug addiction.
Nov 5, 2016 agreed af. like Encore's still a falloff (a cool look at one tho) but you still see peeks of the "greatest rapper ever" Em in there at times, especially in the standout s--- but even when he's drooling on sleeping pills throughout entire tracks. there's a ton of good s--- hidden in the garbage. whereas Recovery barely has enough good tracks to count on one hand, & MMLP2 might be the worst album of all time. Encore is planets better than both.
Nov 5, 2016 Oh f---ing seriously?? Reeeally?? No ones calling it a masterpeice, but forreal the worst album of all time? You do get some verbal diarrhoea on these boards I swear you do.
Nov 5, 2016 This. Encore was definitely better than Relapse and Recovery. Even though My 1st Single is the worst EMinem song I've ever heard.
