    That's probably the project I've listened to least from him. It's definitely his worst but there's some gems.

    Up until I saw this post I completely forgot about Kissland, I know the Trilogy fans aren't too big on his recent adventures but I honestly love the direction he's gone. His voice is perfect for pop and anyone that gets to work with Daft Punk is a big plus in my book.

    hate those ppl that expect abel to stay with the trilogy sound for the rest of his career, like the concept of artistic growth doesnt click with them

    word this is why starboy a classic because he finally won the battle between underground drug ballads to full on pop

    gay critics can tell me it's a 6/10 album but the magnitude of what he accomplished is lost on them

    Agreed.

    I looked at the pitchfork rating, skimmed through the review, laughed at how far off the mark they were and just moved on.

    Starboy isn't quite a Channel Orange or Kaleidoscope Dream, but the Weeknd isn't that artist.

    It's funny the further away he drifted from being an underground darling the less higher acclaim he earned. I love P4K honestly since their reviews can be spot on and explain things that you want to say but with more finesse. All three of them sort of offer a different perspective of sometimes similar concepts, my preference for them varies on my mood or when I'm experiencing something similar irl.

    I love listening, playing and analyzing music it's been a big part of my life. I just don't like basing my own take of music off someone else's thoughts.
