Dec 29, 2016What I want is an album that offers something new from Eminem. Some modern beats (I liked some of the Rubin beats on MMLP2 but I think he should venture away from that style on the next album), some smooth flows, and a nice delivery. I don't care if he does any lyrical miracle songs just so long as they sound good on the ear.
As for features, I'd love him to do a good handful of them. A mix of the OGs and some new cats would be nice. Though I would like more solo songs than features. Three or four features would be ideal for me.
tl;dr I want a replayable album that sounds good

The thing about Eminem is, I know that MFer's in the studio all the time recording s---. But instead of releasing it, he sits on it. Then he drops s--- at random, like "Campaign Speech". I feel like if he dropped s--- more frequently, it would help, ,cause he would've have so much garbage to choose from when he starts putting an album together, and we'd end up with more gems. I'm f---ing tired.
My personal hopes for Em's next album are:
Stop singing so f---ing much. It's annoying. You have the same pitch every time. I liked it better when you did it on s--- like "Hailie's Song" but now it's always more like your intro on "Drop The World". You can come up with something catchy without having to sing it, cause you've done it before. Yes, for some reason, I've switched pronouns and am now talking directly to Marshall himself.
Tone down the political s---. Stick to what you know, and remember, you're f---ing stupid. Embrace that. WE don't care. If we wanted to listen to some smart MFer, all those other white rappers would have your career. "Mosh" was trash, and most of your attempts on the topic since have been as well.
Keep choppin'. I personally love the speedy flow. I hope to hear him experiment with different flows as much as possible, just don't do the one like "Phenomenal" where you're off beat cause you refuse to revise your verses, and insist on cramming too many g.d. words in each bar. "Speedom" verse was fire. It was borderline nonsense at some parts, but I forgave it because you were rapping your a--- off.
I liked the remix of "The Hills" as well. Would love to hear The Weeknd on a hook with you again. Kendrick, also. Maybe branch out beyond your label for features, but show Royce some f---in' love. You haven't had him on a solo album since ya'll squashed the beef, s--- technically since your debut. You make each other better, run with it.
Maybe try some more concept songs. One of my favorite parts of Recovery tbh. I've always found you to be an incredible story teller, and feel you can never go wrong when painting a picture in the listener's mind.
Some of my favorite songs on your last album were bonus tracks. "Don't Front" and "Groundhog Day" are amazing songs imo. Especially the former. You can f--- with beats like that.
Anyways, I hope you get this man. Hit me back, just to chat.

idk why I just feel confident about his song making ability for this next album for some reason, there's so much inspiration 2 source from in the world right now I feel like he probably has started 2 notice what the fans want especially after being dissed by a few rappers. Idk why I just have faith I hope I'm not disappointed, we'll definitely get a Tech feature as well which should be dope. We need Weezy 2 link up with him again tho.Groovy Tony, odd, dkdnfbdjdkdddjdjfvcgfl and 5 others like this. -

Would you prefer features on every song or at least 80% of them or no features whatsoever. While we're on the topic who would you want and not want 2 feature.

That's why we should expect even more complicated rhyme schemes, "Campaign Speech" type of verses all over the album.
The Hills remix was great tho.
Tech couldn't get Eminem feature since 1999, so that's not gonna happen I guess.

Option A:
Eminem has no features, it's a terrible album
Option B:
Eminem has features on every song. But instead of good artists, majority are female pop singers.

Liked Relapse a lot better than TES honestly, I really don't want a political album, a song or 2 would be fine. Specifically "Phenomenal" is a song where he noticeably sounds off beat at some points, because he switches up his flow and it just doesn't fit on the beat very well. On "Speedom" he switches his flow a few times, and even though the last portion is very choppy, it doesn't sound off beat. Tbh, it's just a minor thing. He's been experimenting with his flow a lot since pre-Recovery, and I think he's incredible at rapping double, triple, and even quadruple time. That s--- is f---ing HARD lol. It's like your brain has to be completely focused on making sure your tongue doesn't slip.
I think the most disappointing thing, to me at least, with the accent was this. Before the album dropped, he released "I'm Having a Relapse" which featured the accent heavily. Although, it was annoying somewhat, it was also some of the better material he'd released in years, so it was excusable. Then he dropped the album, and it felt like almost every track featured the same f---in' accent.
Most people came to the conclusion, that considering the horrorcore-style content, Eminem was trying to replicate the "Slim Shady" era, and the accent was his own horrible interpretation of what Slim Shady actually represented, which wasn't just over-the-top violence, and vivid imagery, but also an era filled with flawless lyricism on every level. Metaphors, multi-syllabic rhyme schemes that flowed smoothly together, and most importantly, an obvious hunger, and ambition to prove himself. Now while that final thing is never gonna be there again, I mean, even if you don't consider him the greatest of all time, he's at least in the conversation, and respected by all the people he looked up to... (I KNOW I'M TRAILING OFF RIGHT NOW lol.)
Anyway, my biggest disappointment with the accent was that - what I felt it stood for, which was a misinterpretation of a style that defined him forever. Everyone wanted Slim Shady back. I didn't really care. I enjoyed his progression and maturity over the course of his first three albums, and I mean maturity as an artist, not a person, lol. I'll always be very passionate about my love/hate relationship with his music. The fact that he can disappoint me at all says so much, since there's not many artists I really care enough about to be effected by their decline, but he's the exception.
As for his next album, I'll follow the same strategy as the last ones. Lowest expectations possible. If he meets those, meh, whatever. Even Encore had a few gems (Yellow Brick Road is one of my favorite songs he's done.) But if he can do what we all know he's capable of doing, then maybe my pessimism can pay off somehow ha. Sorry for the novel, but I write long a--- posts all the time.dkdnfbdjdkdddjdjfvcgfl, rapmusik, Buddha and 1 other person like this. -
