So, I know a good batch of the Hip-Hop Shelter community abandoned ship to come here. I'm kind of just posting it for those members benefit, even though most of us didn't get along very well while I was administrating that forum. That's fine, whatever - But regardless, you guys probably deserve to know that the site is shady.

Notalius was regularly reading members personal messages with a Xenforo app called [tLk] ReadPC. He lied to many members saying he wasn't using it. If you shared any personal information with anyone through PMs, that s--- was unfortunately most likely read by an administrator. I tried to uninstall this multiple times, but he (or his programmer, Ozzy) kept adding it back. I do not know if it still is in use, I haven't been an admin there in a long time.

Members were banned for mentioning other sites in private messages.

If you donated the the forum, that money was never really used to do anything past paying random fees and buying a theme. He promised a bunch of s--- that was never delivered upon. You can't really do anything about it now, but I think it's good to know how much of an absolute piece of s--- he is.

If I were any of you, I would go back and delete any personal information (emails, what have you) tied to your account. The site is clearly dying anyway, but it just seems like the smart thing to do at this point.

The site is basically held together with duct-tape and run by a handful of 10 year olds with Napoleon complex.

They will probably say I am bitter - I couldn't care less, I just wanted to give those of you still around a chance to remove your personal details from a site headed by an idiot who has regularly intruded on users privacy to feed his own ego.

To be fair, I didn't really know the extent of it until I became more familiar with the admin panel and started learning what stuff was. At that point, I was pretty open with members about what had happened, but many had already left/been driven away at that point.

I never explicitly lied to you, I was just unaware.

Yes, there were fake guests being used as far as I am aware. He never actually told any of us on staff about it, but from what I could see in the plug-ins list I was pretty sure it was happening. I'm not 100% certain, mind you, but I'd be willing to bet money on that being what it was.

Oh, and their programmer Ozzy regularly tries/tried to get involved in banning/controlling the forum based on members he didn't like. He even took up issue with Pain (who was a moderator or admin at the time) and started trying to push him out of the forum.

The whole site is f----- from top to bottom.

They wasted a year of my time basically allowing me to run the site solo while promising that x/y/z would happen and it never did. There was no incentive behind it for me past thinking I was helping "friends". When nothing improved, and I started noticing the shady s--- happening, I realized I was being used.

I am banned, but that is not why I have an issue with the site. He treats members poorly and leans on people volunteering to help while he slacks. It's just not right.

Now that you mention it, I noticed a ton of, what seemed like, decoy accounts on HHS. Like, accounts that existed for years that have never posted, yet seemed to actively lurk in threads. Not sure if that's related to the fake guests plugin, but it's worth noting.

I admittedly have been less and less involved with the forum as time has gone on (mostly because a good chunk of the cool people have either left or got banned for dumb reasons), so I'm a bit out of touch with how bad things have gotten, but none of this is surprising to me. People thought things couldn't get much worse after TRShady fell apart, but apparently they were wrong.

He did pay for some stuff for the forum with the donations, of course. I'm inferring a lot from just witnessing how things were done (and not done) on the forum; however, it's pretty obvious that what was paid for didn't account for the entirety of donations.

If he produces receipts that prove otherwise, I'll eat my words.

Point? There was absolutely zero point. The forum thought that would be the solution to bringing in new members and encouraging activity - completely ignoring the fundamental issues that prevented the site from growing any larger.

So, it was mostly just fluff. Nothing else.

I think it was also a donation incentive? It was stupid overall though.
