    I can't believe it's been that long. I found out the day after he passed, on my way to school. My friends told me and I dIdn't believe it at first until I saw the paper. He really meant a lot to Latinos in NYC. Granted he was morbidly obese, no one really thought about his mortality to that degree. As far as the pistol whipping and all of that, most people didn't know about that incident until a couple of years after his death, when the Pun documentary came out. It was an unfortunate event and god knows what else went on in his marriage. That said, that's also none of my business. He was a dude with a lot of personal issues, many of which were never resolved. He still meant something to a lot of people, his cultural significance was greater than his personal demons. The fact that he died so long ago but people are still mentioning him today is a testament to that fact.

    I'm a big believer in not letting personal life influence rating of talent. Hate when people dispute if a controversial sportsman should be in a sports hall of fame because of what they did off the field. It's the sports hall of fame not the f---in human hall of fame.
