Feb 8, 2017Eminem came from literally ROCK BOTTOM, it got to a point where he couldn't even even pay for his daughters diaper's, had several different jobs through out each day and STILL managed to think of rhymes and come up with some of the best songs ever recorded. When he was invited to go to the Rap Olympics he couldn't even afford the plane ticket there, Wendy Day (the creator of Rap Olympics) had to pay for his ticket just so he could get to L. A and battle, it was a make or break situation for him, he had no heating in his house, the night before going to the contest he was evicted and had to sleep on the floor in the cold. I think its crazy how he traveled that far not even guaranteed to win the prize money, he said himself he needed to win that money JUST so his family could survive for another couple of weeks and then going through a life of being frequently bullied, getting hit by an block of ice thrown from a school bully and being put in a coma for 6 weeks, the doctor said its likely he'll come put with permanent bran damage but he didn't, he over come it, then he lost his bestfriend/uncle THEN got told by his own mom that she wished he was dead and not ronnie, even after all this he lost his long time friend PROOF who he'd been best friends with for 16 years. I don't know how he got through his life without braking down and saying f it. AND he's still around now at 44 years of age slayin rappers left right and centre. PAC and BIG were great no doubt and ya'll are gone hate me for saying this but pac and big wouldn't be respected as much as they are now IF THEY didn't DIE, I respect them both fully and no doubt they were great, certainly Pac, but skill wise I don't care what y'all say Eminem was better, his legacy in my eyes is better. And thats proved on here too as Em's votes here are more then double pacs and 7 times more then BIG's. He is the BEAST and the GOAT.

@Mow books are different! They portray the music of Eminem perfectly and translate the feeling into something quite literal in a sense especially this is my favorite part
- really think it's simple. I LOVE rap and I think it is a no brainer. His flow, lyrics, multi-syllables and overall delivery are flawless. Dont get me wrong, Pac and Biggie made the game what it is today but I don't think even they can lyrically compare to Eminems genius. All rappers no not to go at him because he will straight hurt their feelings. Has he lost a little bit over the years? Yeah, I think he probably has but don't think for a second he doesn't still have. Look at Mariah. Granted she's a female and it was very easy for him but she shouldn't have opened her mouth and it never would have happened. The real reason he even responded to a female was to let the rest of the game know, "Hey, don't slip up and think I've lost it cause anybody is welcome to try! " I think he easily got his point across! Listening to that song, if you know what you're talking about at all, you know he definitely still has it. The lyrics and flow were absolutely phenomonal. Hands down the best ever! That's just my opinion though!

RabbitRunn7 minutes agoThat is certified album units in the United States. I said World Wide.. There are more countries than just the US.. that link is irrelevant.
Eminem isn't the only rapper to win an Oscar, but he was the first. He broke that stigma for the others.
Yeah I've never seen someone f--- a post up so bad that I can't quote it.. lmao

Eminem demonstrates everything that rap is about and why it is millions of peoples favorite music. To me, rappers can be (however loosely) classified into lyricists and rhythm artists. Eminem is, at heart, a lyricist because he tells a story like no one else can. His metaphors are so intricate and his rhymes are practically a work of art. Sometimes you can hear him use the same rhyming scheme for an entire verse. In my opinion, one of the best ways to compare the quality of rappers lyrics is to string together the lines and see how they make sense together. For eminem, this means that his lines are almost like sentences. For example, "Mockingbird" is practically a poem. However, back on track, eminem also spits songs where his voice and his music blend almost perfectly. In other words, he lets his voice and rhymes bounce along with the music, instead of just screaming into the micFiveOh1, RabbitRunn and FreeAgent like this. -

I think we all can agree that Eminem is a hip-hop legend - Most sold hip-hop records, top 10 selling artist of all time, first hip-hop artist who's song won an Oscar, won artist of the decade, Epic diss tracts, legendary classic albums (SSLP, MMLP, TES), etc. I could go on and on. He was the most loved artist throughout the 2000s. So what happened? A lot of people just don't like him anymore, specifically the younger generation. Is it because rap has changed? because he isn't the same rapper he was 15 years ago? because he's white? because he only puts music out once every three years?
The dude is 44. He isn't the same he was 15 years ago (who is?). His music now is still good in my opinion, he just doesn't come out with a lot of it. His lyrical genius is still there- if you don't believe me just look at his lyrics. If you are still to stupid to understand them, then take an English class. A lot of people s--- all over MMLP2 for example (which still won a grammy for rap album of the year btw), but it was still a good album compared to the s--- that is out now. He is a legend at the back end of his career, why can't we just enjoy what he puts out and be happy? Sort of like how Kobe was s--- (compared to the NBA legend he used to be) the last year of his career, but he started every game and was heavily cheered at every stadium he went to- he even started the all-star game!
On a side note.. Have you noticed how many people are grinding on Drakes d-ck right now? I'm looking at you, dude who thinks Views is a 10/10 album.. Don't get me wrong I like Drake, but d--- have some respect for yourselves.Last edited: Feb 8, 2017MMXVI, Don Marshall and TomorrowsPast like this.Dec 21, 2025(This ad goes away when signing up)
