Feb 11, 2017i realize i'm probably in the minority on this, but i always thought i need a doctor was a very good track. awesome hook and the verses Eminem put together are very good. and that's coming from someone who hasn't enjoyed most of Eminem's material in the last several years
so i pick i need a doctor

I Need A Doctor's verses were dope, but that garbage a--- beat ruins a potential good song.WestSideboi, joeyp363 and Michael Myers like this.(This ad goes away when signing up) -

I don't think I'll ever understand the Alex Da Kid hate. Airplanes 2 and INAD are two great beats the fit Eminem very, very well. Castle Walls was incredible for T.I. and I'd say those e beat were better than anything that bum Rick Rubin did. Same could be said for Jim Jonsin and Just Blaze. And honestly even though I don't like the song whatsoever, objectively LTWYL was a tremendous beat for what that song was trying to accomplish.
Recovery era production>>> Anything Eminem has rapped on since.
And FWIW Alex Da Kid isn't perfect. The song he did for MMLP2 was atrocious. -

Medicine Man >>>> INAD by like shittons
Beat is somethin serious. Dre verse is top tier. Chicks hook is legit 11/10 - like the godess shiva herself is singing hymns to you telling you to go f--- urself. Eminem verse is sick especially when that huge 808 comes in wheeeeeeeewwwwww typa s--- to make u run an extra 2 miles on treadmill.
INAD is just yucky -

Pretty straight forward thread. Which is the better song?
I wasn't the biggest fan of the shouting Recovery-era Eminem but I think I Need a Doctor is pretty great song if your ignore the fact it was produced by Alex Da Kid. Eminem gets emotional yelling at his mentor to wake up and get back in the rap game. It sounded like it was actually serving a purpose and they were gearing up to release Detox, but we all know how that turned out. Pretty sure it was only officially released because it leaked. I think thanks to @Koolo?
Medicine Man on the other hand, I couldn't tell you the point of the song if there was one other than the obligatory Eminem feature for Dre's (most likely last) album. I seriously think they stopped working together long before this... The song itself is out of place on the album, and it sounds like they most definitely didn't sit down and work on it let alone even speak during the creative process. That being said it's different and I think Eminem delivered a great verse. Ignoring the rest of the album's theme, it's a fairly solid song on its own.
Personally I think I'd have to go with INAD. I think it's just a better overall song and we've obviously got a soft spot when Eminem gets melodramatic.(This ad goes away when signing up)
