(AllHipHop News) Controversial New York radio host Taxstone had his day in court today (January 17), over his alleged involvement in a deadly shooting at Irving Plaza last May involving rapper Troy Ave.

Police arrested Taxstone yesterday (January 16), at his aunt’s house in Brooklyn, accusing the popular podcaster of various weapons violations.

Today in court, authorities officially charged him with gun violations, for his role in the fight.

Police managed to track the 9mm Kel-Tec handgun used in the shooting to a man in Florida.

Investigators were then able to connect the gun to man who said he sold gun the to an associate of Taxstone.

Troy Ave’s conflict with Taxstone started as of words on the internet, but quickly escalated into physical violence.

The two men finally clashed backstage in a green room at Irving Plaza on May 25th, during a night in which T.I. was supposed to give a headline performance.

Footage from Irving Plaza captured part of Troy and Taxstone’s fight on tape, which showed Taxstone bursting out of a door, with Troy Ave following, and blasting away at Tax as he scurried through the crowded venue.

In total, four people were wounded in the shooting, including Troy Ave. The rapper’s bodyguard, Ronald “Banga” McPhatter, was killed in the shooting.

Troy Ave, born Ronald Collins, was eventually charged in the shooting, however he was only hit with attempted murder charges and he was released on $500,000 bail, only to be shot again a few months later in December, on Christmas Day.

Taxstone, born Daryl Campbell, has officially been charged with being a felon in possession of a weapon and buying an illegal gun.

Taxstone’ bail was set at $500,000 and although his movements are restricted, he will be allowed to record his “Tax Season” podcast from his house.

Tax’s lawyer Kenneth Montgomery said he believes his client will make bail in about two weeks.
