Jul 20, 2020 disagree - as a lifelong fan (literally - some of my first memories are my mom listening to the MMLP in the car) the song holds an emotional weight that Em hasn't captured in a long time. The reason we are all talking about Eminem 18 years after his peak and downfall is because we do Believe. It's a great song and represents want Eminem should be reminding us of in this era - he personally connected with millions of people through his voice in his music. He was so popular because the songs felt like he was speaking to you!
Jul 20, 2020 I respect the opinion I just can’t vouch for it in comparison to his classics, definitely matches the point of his career though like you said. I will say though, after hearing Walk on Water before the project, on the 1st listen to the album leak, hearing Believe straight after I was READY for a h--- of a ride & then by the next song it was over lmao. Revival was the first Em album I couldn’t finish. I even smoked a joint halfway to try and get through it and I still couldn’t smh.
Jul 20, 2020 agreed - I thought there was a chance Untouchable was the lowest point of the album and we would get something poignant reflecting on his legacy. Unfortunate he never went that route. I turned it off by track 5 or 6. It took about a week for me to finally listen to the album piecemeal style.
Jul 20, 2020 Untouchable was such a refreshing topic for Eminem as well, he butchered that song so d--- hard.
Jul 20, 2020 As much as I understand the criticism of listing random objects together for 4-8 bars at a time I really f---in vouch for his No Favors verse lol, I don’t care about the song I just thought it was dope cuz it was one of the first times we heard em on a trap beat (and a great one) and he sounds great on it idk what the big deal is
Jul 21, 2020 That's a strong debate. Every single song? I'm still very uncertain how I feel about Vegas.
Jul 21, 2020 Idk if it's terrible opinion, but Eminem's Majesty verse is one of his best he's done since Encore.
