I disagree. I've been a fan for years.

I grew up from the age of about 14-17 listening to Ice Cube and then I moved on to Will Smith (I know, wtf??) and then '99 happened and My Name Is came out. And the rest is history.

I've been a fan since day one, seen him live about 7 or 8 times and get pissednoff with the poppy, crap mainstream stuff.

This thread was obviously clickbait but we'll we'l, it worked!

This argument that Em has an uneven number of 'casual' fans who don't actually listen to any other hiphop that try and say that em is the greatest ever rapper.....

well...... How accurate really is this? And more to the point, why do people let this irk them so much?? There will always be an element of casuals who like popular music or hold a biased towards a certain artists for reasons of nostalgia, but that is the same across all genres of music. To those that aren't heavy into rock music for example.... as a 'casual' who you gonna name when the conversation comes up?? Zeplin?? Metallica? Stones??? It's the same principle, and it doesn't really matter either way as far as the culture and people within the genre are concerned . I bet Guns and roses biggest fan wont get mad and pop a vein when a casual names Pink Floyd as they fav band. This pent up anger and resentment only seems to happen in hiphop, where it's usually a flock of nerdy white specky individuals who think thy are the staple for the culture, that throw the biggest tantrums when other people don't conform to their opinions.

I also wonder how much of an issue this really is?? Is it exaggerated some what? Me for example..... I've had 'shadyslim555' as my username on every board of been on since about 16 years ago. For my sins, occasionally I catch some flack for that but I really don't give much of a f---, I'm not shallow enough to allow that to affect my day, just because people wanna make broad assumptions simply because of my username that I must be some die hard stan who will defend anything in ems name without question, it's an easy attack to make, and usually the first thing that gets said when I'm trying to enter a debate with someone on here. The truth of the matter however is that I am not delusional and I'm also not blindly defensive of something just because of the name attached to it firstly, and secondly I actually do listen to a wide range of other hiphop and I always have. I am a hiphop head bottom line, and it's been my favourite gene of music bar none ever since I was about 14. Do I still love Eminem? Yeah. DO I still think dude is probably the greatest ever ? Yeah. Do I think revival as body of work is s--- though?? Yes I do.

I know suits you lil b------s that get angry for some real weird obsessive reason that em still has fans, just to lump everyone into the same category, but unfortunately some of you simply just need to accept that despite what YOU think and how you perceive things.... a LOT of people who listen to a LOT of other hiphop STILL have em right on top of their list, and it wont matter if he drops another 3 s--- albums then retires.

No one can take away his legacy and his previous bodies of work. You can try to take that away from him all you like.... but you cant do it. Anyone and everyone can forever debate all of his work and argue against other peoples opinions... that'll never stop. But you can't change the past or think for other people as much as you might want to.

Some of you butt-hurt bitter nerds just need to accept the facts. Even Hophops heads....some of them really like Eminem. Still.

Sorry if that makes you upset or uncomfortable. I'd suggest you really need to get a new focus in life if you are one of these poeple, and find some other way of venting your frustrations.

Hey.... don't beat your ol lady though!!! DONT pick up a gun yo!!!
Perhaps join the gym of some s---, or take up boxing. I fell sorry for you people I really do.

LOL Do I though??? I just think it's an interesting topic of discussion. You're making the mistake that if people don't agree with me that I'm gonna lose sleep over it or some s---?!! LMAO.

It's something I've noticed that I'm highlighting. It's amusing to me that there are so many people who are bitter about other peoples options NOT being the same as theirs.
The fact that the topic happens to be Eminem is because it's Eminem who attracts these bitter weirdos more so than any other rapper. lol.
