Dec 23, 2015 I'm not really much of a Cole Swindell fan and this song actually caught me off guard. His new album may have more potential than I originally expected.
Jan 2, 2016 Good song, if you haven't heard his self titled album, check it out. I thought it was a pretty solid album.
Jan 2, 2016 I guess the video for this just came out recently, apparently it was on Just What I Am on the platinum edition, my first time hearing it now. Good track
Jan 3, 2016 There were 4 new songs on the Platinum Edition of Just As I Am, I liked all 4. I'm not counting the Bottoms Up Remix (feat. T.I.) because I like to forget that it exists and was actually an official release.
Jan 3, 2016 Yeah I stay away from any country mixed with rap. I don't know how people listen to s--- like The Lacs.
Jan 3, 2016 The only time it has actually worked for me was this song and that's only because it has no rapping and is more of a country/R&B mix.
Jan 3, 2016 This is sooooo nostalgic for me. This is the only instance that I have seen that a crossover worked. Helps that it was more R&B/Country as you said, rap and country mixes make me want to puke.
Jan 4, 2016 The bass player for this band is from my hometown. The song is getting pretty big, at least in our general area, due to all the flooding that's recently happened
Jan 4, 2016 Listening to it now, I like it. Where are you from? For some reason, in some parts of the song, it reminds me of All American Kid from Garth's last album
Jan 4, 2016 I'm from a small a--- town in Missouri but currently live in Cape Girardeau, MO. The video was shot right across the river in East Cape, IL/McClure IL where there really is pretty much nothing there now except for a strip club lol
Jan 5, 2016 I'm gonna try at least once a week to post some songs of smaller country acts that not many people have heard about to try and keep this thread more consistent its activity. First one up is Luke Combs. I just started getting into him and so far I like what I've heard. He's released 3 EP's in the last couple of years for around 11-12 songs total. Can't wait to hear a full project from him.
Jan 5, 2016 I like this one too and a couple Colt Ford joints. Anyways I'm thinking about putting together a top 50 songs of 2015 list I thought this thread was dead because for some reason I'm wasn't getting notifications for posts in here.
Jan 5, 2016 I just heard his Hurricane track a couple weeks ago but haven't listened to any of his other stuff, thanks for posting those.
Jan 5, 2016 Nelly seems to be the only rapper that can make the crossovers work. I remember hearing something about him doing a country album, I hope it happens just to see how it turns out. Not like he has much of a rap career anymore anyways. Not really a Colt Ford fan, some songs I can tolerate but for the most part he just annoys me. Definitely interested in seeing that list if you put it together, there were a lot of great songs released this year. No problem, there are so many hidden gems in country that you never hear about.
Jan 6, 2016 I'm thinking about doing a top songs of 2015 list too, to make it easier it would just be based off of songs on the songs I have in my iTunes. Looks like I've added around 500 country songs in 2015 so I don't think it would be too bad (that 500 includes songs released before 2015 that wouldn't qualify).
