Oct 21, 2016 At the time easily TES but right now I pick GRODT. TES feels about 5 or 6 years older than GRODT and they were released less than a year apart. That's not a good thing lol.
Oct 23, 2016 They're both classics. Why must we compare everything? Both are very different styles of rap and are great in what they are.
Oct 24, 2016 Both are masterpieces but The Eminem Show Hailie's Song is the greatest song of all time
Oct 24, 2016 GRODT is a great debut album.... That said, I think TES s----s on it, cause it has more appeal to me. Em matured a lot between MMLP and TES. Songs like "White America", "Square Dance", "Say Goodbye to Hollywood" and "Sing for the Moment" were just a drastically different type of concept when I heard them. I will admit that I was never a huge fan of Em talking about politics, cause I felt like he was taking more of a retaliatory stance against political criticism than actually speaking on a subject he truly understood. I'm not taking anything away from GRODT, but I couldn't bump it back to forth like I did with TES. The only song I wasn't feeling on Em's album was "Drips" tbh. But GRODT had some fire... "Heat", "High All the Time", "Patiently Waiting", "In Da Club" and "Don't Push Me" were some tracks that I bumped pretty frequently. 50 was very entertaining, on and off the mic, I'll give him that. But as a whole, I don't rate GRODT as highly as TES.
Oct 24, 2016 as great and infinitely listenable as GRODT is i just simply have to go with TES over it. it might have to do with it being one of the most important albums for me personally (really got me heavily into hip hop at an early age) but also i just genuinely think it's better. don't get me wrong, it isn't perfect. it has its weak spots and cringe moments (i can say the same about GRODT too) but i find it to be a more artistically ambitious and rewarding listen overall. it's so personal, emotional, and musically on point. lyrically and flow-wise amazing. can listen to it any time and get something substantial out of it.
