    I got the notification & clicked immediately, haven’t felt so excited to see anything drop since the humble video dropped around the same time of day 5 years ago

    getting to Friday this week is gonna feel like running up the infinite stairs in Mario 64 when you haven’t unlocked the final boss

    For a traditional radio single it would be awful but that's not really what it is—for what it's trying to do it's serving its purpose, which is to get people speculating and talking about the album on social media and building hype. It's the exact type of thing most of his demographic loves. Again I'm not even very big on the song but I think it's disingenuous to pretend otherwise—Kendrick has something like 15 platinum hits, he knows this isn't Humble lol

    Every hardcore fanbase is like that unfortunately, I personally think Kendrick deserves the praise he gets but I agree with your overall stance that fanbases are s-----y lol

    Depends on the context which we’ll hear tomorrow, i think it’s alluding to the perspective narratives he’ll be using.

    The Heart series isn’t a ‘song for the radio’ type deal, they’re non-album freestyles & not supposed to stick around, they become irrelevant once the album drops.

    I think some people were expecting an album single, an anthem like Humble & maybe got sideswiped by this but i was expecting this type of s--- so i personally f----- with it.

    I agree overall and people definitely do that for Kendrick and any popular artist but i haven't seen much of that here so far. what you describe is more accurate for this forum's relationship with Eminem or even Kanye moreso than kendrick imo. The Kendrick community here is pretty dead and I've seen waaaaaaaay more hyperbolic hate than hyperbolic stanning in the Kendrick threads after this song dropped

    Here's a hint, bit of jazz history and black culture. Actually it'll sound so similar to his last 2 projects you could remove all track names, album titles and rearrange the songs into 3 different albums and they'd still work.

    People give pusha t s--- for rapping about coke often, somehow kendrick gets a pass by sampling jazz music and talking the same talking points every song post GKMC? Pffft, atleast push uses different beats gtfo

    Boring nerd a--- song. Don’t get me wrong dude can rap. But he literally makes songs like they are some books or something. One listen is enough. Beat is weird too. Kendrick washed since after gkmc.

    Yeah, there's been so many tragic deaths I didn't mean one is "worse" than the other. But Nip is one I play over and over in my head because it was so, so avoidable and I can't believe another human being would want to take him away from this earth.

    I can expand on the nipsey. He's speaking as him, for all the things nipsey did in his community and for his friends/family. he's letting everyone know he's in heaven and he's ok. He even forgave his killer.

    Track and video are good but I agree with the lack of replay value - but that's ok since I don't think his goal was to make this a #1 radio hit
