Dec 10, 2015 Stoked its coming back but idk why the f--- theyre already deciding this is it...I know the ratings are s-----y but what if it wins the Emmy for best drama this year?
Dec 10, 2015 I don't buy it...I think if HBO offered him 3 more seasons of the show he'd do it. The show has found it's stride and not only was the critical acclaim much higher for S2 but I just looked up the ratings and after averaging 1 million viewers per episode for S1 and the first half of S2, the ratings for the last 2 episodes increased by 30%
Dec 10, 2015 Those are s-----y ratings to begin with though. The first season usually has worse ratings and then it picks up from there. That didn't happen unfortunately. It looks like making it has taken a toll on him as well...
Dec 11, 2015 I mean on the surface they dont seem like great ratings but that only counts L+3 ratings and not on demand or HBO Go/Now viewers which HBO gets more of than any other network for obvious reasons. Plus when Showtime's #1 rated show is Homeland which averages 2million per episode (and goes directly agianst Leftovers) it's still comparable with other premium cable shows in its timeslot.
Dec 14, 2015 Sad it's only for one more season, but I'm overall glad that they have an end in sight and are stopping there rather than keeping it going just to kep it going. HBO shows have a pretty good track record of ending when they need to end. Wish I could say the same thing about SHO (Dexter, Weeds, etc).
Dec 14, 2015 6 nominations at the Critics Choice Awards !! Justin Theroux best actor drama, Carrie Coon best actress drama, Best Drama, Best Supporting Actor Christopher Eccleston & Best Supporting Actress Regina King & Ann Dowd. FINALLY
Jan 12, 2016 I'm late to the party and had no interest in Season 2 after watching Season 1 when it debuted, but holy s--- did this show get great
Jan 13, 2016 Heard an interview with Lindelof who said the first 10 minutes of the S3 premiere will continue the "cave women" story the S2 premiere began.
Aug 30, 2016 Sucks we gotta wait til next year The Leftovers is heading to Australia for Season 3. But what will Kevin Garvey find out when he gets there? Show creator David Lindelof and lead star Justin Theroux sat down to talk about the series. Plus, a new character is joining to help wrap up the mystery of the Sudden Departure. Unfortunately, HBO is yet to confirm a return date for Season 3. However, according to rumors, the show will get Game of Thrones’ original time slot next summer. If true, then viewers might see a new episode of The Leftovers by April 2017. As for Kevin Garvey, he will discover that his father (played by Scott Glenn) has followed the mystery to the Land From Down Under in search for an answer. “He’s been wandering the continent, and his journeys culminate in the Melbourne area at around the same time the rest of the show is basically colliding with him,” Lindelof shared in an interview with The Music. While neither Lindelof nor Theroux are willing to impart information about the upcoming season, they revealed that instead of building new sets, the series will take advantage of existing Victorian spots in Australia. The HBO series is currently filming in places such as Federation Square in Melbourne’s CBD and You Yangs mountain range. Moreover, the cast is getting bigger as new characters enter the picture. Manhattan actress Katja Herbers recently signed on to The Leftovers Season 3. How her undisclosed character will fit into Garvey’s search for answer is still unknown. But she will not be the only person joining the paranormal show’s final season. Sherlock and Close to the Enemy star, Lindsey Duncan, was also cast. However, her character’s name and description remains under wraps. The Leftovers is based on a novel written by Tom Perotta. However, the HBO series expanded the mythology of The Rapture by exploring how different people react to loss and inexplicable events.
