It does look promising (botw) but I really don't see the need to buy an entire console for 1 game. at the worst, botw looks like a 7/10 game, there's minor problems i have with it, but that's mainly in the design/graphical choices/post processing choices. like literally, don't buy a switch for this game. the wii u cemu emulator is almost working perfectly atm, just need the sneaky japs to continue working on the emulator/porting more roms. your choices are literally, spend $360 USD to play this game on release and more than likely be stuck with a console you don't want/need OR wait a month for the wii u rom and play for free. Nintendo is a massive f----up of a company atm. disagree. To me, this game really isn't doing anything new/unseen. (heres an example) -towers that when climbed reveal surrounding areas/dungeons/collectibles >assasins creed -open world meme >every game 2015 onwards -physics in combat/reactive terrain >FFXV
Jan 29, 2017 More that one game coming out for it m8 you probably don't care about nintendo's first party, but they've already announced this much: Mario Kart 8.5 Splat 2 New 3d mario That 'finished' pikimin game nintendo are holding on to. Xenoblade 2. I think they're hiding some games too, since they don't wanna blow out all the hype at once. Retro have an un-announced game too, And nintendo should know by now that the people want a metroid game.
Jan 29, 2017 they all look pretty average to me. New mario? does look good and i want to play it, but really I doubt it'll be all that much different to N64 mario. splat 2? "we must give the asians a competitive e-sport game!" mario kart 8.5 will probably be good, but the 8.5 part shows how tired the series is. might have cared about pikmin 10-15 years ago. Xenoblade is a good JRPG. i dunno what more you could say about it. download cemu's wii u emulator with your web browser then when the zelda rom is out (soon after release) you get 100% off the console and game
Jan 29, 2017 do you feel a little salty that wii u can already be emulated on PC? like im not trying to rub it in - just if i bought a wii u, i'd be fuming rn cause i can do everything on it for free via PC (it's also technically better (apart from it having minor issues across the board cause it's still new) cause you can run just about any game in 1080p/4k resolutions where as wii-u locks a lot of games to 720p for performance.) i think i'm just in the minority, the whole switch thing looks over rated to me. new zelda looks too generic kinda. like it does look different, but all the mechanics they've added it just looks like they're trying to perfect the open world meme instead of trying to do something new. Also i'm on the fence about the art style and their graphical choices - i like how it's literally next-gen ocarina of time/majora's mask, but I think the semi-realistic textures of twilight princess/links appearance in super smash bros would have been better.
Jan 29, 2017 How is that in any way not pointing to a calssic? Mario Kart 8 was supposed to be the magnum opus of the series. But it's lacking in online ability and it killed the battle mode. A working battle mode (it seems to take after the ds battle mode, which was the best imo) and proper online is the only reason to justify porting a game literally EVERY wii u owner has. Because those were really the only disappointments with the game. Mario Kart 8 deluxe is what Mario Kart 8 should have been. Never got the original , but it looks fun and the graphical quality was pretty top notch. The gameplay looked really smooth in the demo's and it had nice graphical quality at that.
Jan 29, 2017 because it's the same thing, with better graphics and a few new mechanics/gameplay tweaks, it'll be fun, but it wont have that "classic" magic that n64 mario had. oh wow lol, so Mario Kart 8 was technically an unfinished game? typical. it looks fun, but console e-sports are destined for a short life span when there competition is CS:GO, LoL, Overwatch, DotA2, Starcraft 2 etc. Like if you compare splatoon 2, to antoher big e-sport console game, you've got overwatch which is xbone, ps4 and PC. doubt any console exclusive will come close to touching that level of viewers.
Jan 29, 2017 Lol, i don't think it'll be as smooth as you think it is. And when you say you'll be playing in higher res, you'll just be upscaling the same s-----y textures at a higher fps. Assuming you have a pc that won't s--- itself trying to emulate that thing.
Jan 29, 2017 I can't speak on the 4k res's, but the 1080p games are definitely native 1080p, not upscaled. Think they only started working on the emulator in the past year, so it's still new territory as i said. Some graphics cards (intel chipsets and some nvidia) have lots of issues using the emulator, but there's multiple places online with spreadsheets that get updated weekly with what cards people used to run what games and how well the games run. off top, games that can smoothly be completed start-finish are; mario world u super mario bros u mario kart 8 xenoblade x super smash bros twilight princess some other zelda game like those are jsut some popular ones i'm going to try and paly over the next month or two. i got the emulator downloaded, but net is s--- so havent bothered with any roms yet but will soon. mario kart 8 on PC in 1080p played with a ps4 controller, it's like i'm taking out my d-ck and just waving it in the nintendo CEO's faces.
Jan 29, 2017 oh and a mid range PC can run all these games well. high-end ones run them all well with 1080/4k graphics. my PC is actually more powerful than a wii u so it makes sense that i can run the games better (for the most part).
