Mar 14, 2017 @BigCountry if you want, post some pics and i'll let you know what i know about em. @Final same goes.
Mar 14, 2017 Word I'll take a look tonight, I don't think many of them are first edition (probs a few) but how much do you think the full set is worth regardless? $100? $200? Less than that? More? I honestly have no idea at this point.
Mar 14, 2017 considering buying a switch just to play this game. it's $400 CAD plus $80 for the game. basically, do you guys think the experience of playing this game is worth $500?
Mar 14, 2017 well a decent condition non 1st ed charizard from the og set is easy $75, so I think you're looking at atleast $300 easy, maybe more dependant on condition. lol we off zelda mang. we on that pokemon card tip now. (protip, buy some $200 nikes, wait a month and emulate game)
Mar 14, 2017 cemu is a wii u emulator (though it can run games in higher resolution, with post-processing effects. for example 4k mario kart) they managed to get the game to start day 1, running on day 2 and right now the game works, just not as intended. they have coding to do to fix things like object collision and other in-game mechanics.
Mar 14, 2017 Perfect, if you're keeping tabs on it lmk about updates. Otherwise I'll ask you in like a month
Mar 14, 2017 will do. ill be making a thread as soon as im playing botw in glorious 1080p. though you do need a pretty decent PC, like if you just got an average one thats not much of a gaming PC you might have issues. but you could always drop switch money on pc parts and GG PC master race. you can download the emulator and rom right now, but from what ive read you cant leave the starting area and you can pretty much only run. kinda a visual demo if you want to try that lmao.
Mar 14, 2017 no doubt i'ma try it tonight. i got a mac tho so idk if this even gonna work now. but maybe i can play it at a lower resolution
Mar 14, 2017 I think it will run decent in lower res. the other thing is the frames are choppy in the emulated version atm, like they have the base work done, they just have to go through heaps of code and optimize it for pc etc etc. next update for cemu will apparently make cemu run better on nvidia GPU's cause of open GL support or some such s--- i dont fully understand lol. but yeah if you download cemu, get mario kart 4 as well just cause thats 100% working and not buggy, will give you a better idea on whether your mac can run stuff.
Mar 14, 2017 Game is amazing, if you like Nintendo games in general it's worth it cuz there's some dope games in the pipeline, but if you're mostly into just Zelda just emulate it like @Coco said.
Mar 14, 2017 f---in Canadian prices though holy s---. I got the game for less than $50 w/ amazon prime.
Mar 14, 2017 i still havent even got my blonde vinyl in the mail lol. f---ing s---, being canadian sucks a--- for buying s---
Mar 14, 2017 I bought mine solely for this game and don't regret it at all... though I did use tax return money so this was my gift to myself in a way. As it stands now the Switch itself is pretty useless because it was rushed to release with Zelda and you can experience Zelda on a WiiU for much cheaper so it really depends if you like the concept of a console handheld and the games that will come out later for it. Overall, the Switch is cool but I'm a huge Zelda fan and that was pretty much the only factor for me since I didn't have a WiiU. I thought I would give Nintendo a chance this console round and it made more sense to get the new console rather than the 6 year old one
Mar 14, 2017 Hey @Coco @Final The metascore dropped to 97 http://www.thejimquisition.com/the-legend-of-zelda-breath-of-the-wild-review/ It's a weird review, because half of the review is him saying literally everything (almost word for word) every other "Paid2review" site has said, but the other half is stuff like this then he concludes saying "Truly, I wish I could say I understood what all the critics were raving about in their onslaught of 10/10 reviews, but I don’t. I see too many things getting in the way of the brilliance, too much repetitive busywork and full-on d-ck moves for me to say this is even close to my favorite Zelda game, much less in the top five. Close, but no Triforce." The weird bit i was talking about is when he says it doesn't crack his top 5 zelda games.... which is weird because some of the things he complains about are things in every other zelda game. It seems like he's halfway with everyone else, then he pushes on about how the shiekah slate is somehow nintendo's attempt to put a switch in the game (he's never seen a wii u gamepad i guess) , and that the weapons break (If weapons didn't break, dropped weapons would be redundant, and you wouldn't have any reason to explore the play styles other weapons allow, plus it gives extra dimension to speed runs) and that entering you have to climb towers to unlock them (after saying how much he enjoyed mountain climbing), and that rainfall is an inconvenience, and that enemies that can OHKO you . He's complaining about things that make the game seem more varied......but in a way that hinders the player. I'm not saying it's disingenuous, but it feels like he tried too hard to "counter the balance". I can't imagine giving pokemon red a 7 because of zubats in caves
Mar 14, 2017 Honestly brada, I bought a Nintendo 3DS just to play Ocarina of Time remake, and I don't regret it at all lol. I think I'm going to end up buying the switch in a bit anyways. I have 2 baby nephews, and I grew up playing Mario Kart on Nintendo 64, so it'd be nice if I could give them a similar experience anyways. So if the emulator thing works, I'll buy the switch in a few months, and if not, I'll get it soon as finals are over. Plus yo, sometimes u just wanna play kids games u kno?
Mar 14, 2017 He's a fa----. He's known for disliking Nintendo and publically tells people to pirate their games... and then he complains about s--- like Menus... really? He doesn't want menus? The f---? Half his complains are based on the concept that he doesn't like the system they built this game around (weapons durability) and honestly without that system in place this game would not be what it is.. if you don't like the core mechanic of the game then at least admit that and regardless of that... he gives this game a 7 rather than an 8 out of spite to get attention for himself. His own grading system says: Under the score "7" he wrote 7 (Good): A 7 represents a favorable slice of entertainment that ought to prove welcome in the right house. Not the most glamorous, polished, or jawdropping, but most definitely good for a chuckle or two. After reading this I couldn't help but think, "Hmm.. Alright, that seems okay", until I read what an 8 was 8 (Great): An 8 represents something that could prove immensely enjoyable to a majority of people, if not everybody. There are one or two noteworthy blemishes on their records, something holding them back, but nothing so major as to not be worth a lot of peoples’ time and energy. So why does he give it a 7 when his own review classifies it as an 8? Because he's a fa---- and wants views. There's another review site that gave it a 6/10... a site I've never heard of and oddly enough they had similar complaints. You can criticize the game... but anyone that sees this game as below an 8/10 should stop playing video games because at that point you are nitpicking completely irrelevant things for the sake of being the only person that gives the game a low score. When it's critically acclaimed by 80+ reviews and you're the only one to give it a s--- score... I'd say somethings wrong
Mar 14, 2017 I bought mine just for Majoras Mask lol Everyone keeps saying Mario Kart 8 on the WiiU is amazing and the Switch is getting the Deluxe version with lots of extras so I think your nephews would have a blast playing that with you plus it comes out in a month Kids games
