ok this may be a stupid thread but I saw a tweet of some famous guy which i never heard of

i mean, first f--- this guy and whoever say these things

people blaming a woman for the "bad behaivor" (in their opinion) of a man, and trying to look like "social" or "smart" or some bs, is cringe.

second, actually, if anyone is the so called "next pac", is kanye. People acting like kanye hasn't stood up for black people or something. His impact and charisma is undeniable

this s--- (and so many others)

represents also the black power without being so chewed, like kendrick does
and dont get me wrong, i like kendrick and his performance was great
but he still has a long way, and his last album wasn't that good

i dont know, maybe i need also some lexapro:kanye3:

Kanye and Kendrick are two very different types of rappers. Kanye's a rapper producer (his sonics come first for us listeners) so we give him a break on not having as good a flow or lyrics (kinda like Dre) and Kendrick is mainly a rapper- he doesn't make his beats but what we really expect are bars written only by him and a great flow. Kanye does present a socially conscious song on occasion but honestly its not what he's known for. They come from completely different backgrounds too (kanye from middle class chicago, Kendrick from Compton) and the content of their songs, expressly their own personal life stories reflect a difference. More often than not Kanye's raps are very self interested whether it's introspective or braggadocious while Kendrick's are mostly about interactions between him and others- his albums as a whole are conceptual and focus on a story of people. Very different outlooks and intentions in the album and Kendrick's way simply aligns with 2pac's better than Kanye. It's not just impact- 2Pac was a rapper first, very socially conscious, and he came from west coast roots around g--- violence- these are the similarities that link them. If you wanna call Kanye an icon and that's your reason for saying he's the next Pac that's fine but it's not what everyone else means when they say that.

(also TPAB was at first disappointing to me but after listening to it over and over, starting by focusing on lyrics and then the soundscape I found it's a great album, really terrific and well worth the work put into listening! My favorite work so far from Kendrick)

completely different types of rappers, didn't you read what I said, I don't get why you compare them like this
and yea- kanye has people help write for him but that's because we give him a break as a rapper producer

1st of all, if you think Kanye only started acting crazy after hooking up with Kim you haven't been paying close enough attention. 2nd, there is no next Pac, just like there's no next MJ. Kenny is good but no matter how hard he tries he will never be Pac.

Exactly the reason why kendrick isn't a creative artist, he a glorified biter.

obviously when i say next pac, i mean in terms of impact, being an icon and spokeperson of a generation/community... not literally being tupac

of course there'll be no other Pac, gangsta rap's been pretty close to dead since Kanye's rise, I think Kendrick uses him as an idol his work stans on its own as unique too
