The president & Fox News continue to try to undermine the FBI & run a smear campaign against the institution. This is something you see from authoritarians/dictators & Fox News, one of the most watched cable news networks in the country, is helping push this. It’s very disturbing. He says “some are good people” & then proceeded to accuse Mexico of sending over violent criminals. Statistically & factually, there’s no merit to either of those statements. A majority of undocumented immigrants who come here are good people seeking a better life.

Why would that point matter if they’re fake news? You don’t believe anything they publish, right? And that’s not what they said though. They said several people from the meeting didn’t recall trump making those comments. Also, you’re using a strawman argument. You’re using the fact that since their illegal, they’ve all broken the law but that’s not what we’re talking about. We’re talking about trump’s accusations of them being violent criminals. You can’t say only “some [undocumented immigrants] are good people” when undocumented immigrants commit crime at a lower rate than natural born citizens. Most are good people. Also, let’s not forget his accusation that the Mexican government sends over violent criminals. That’s a complete lie.

Yeah, I’m fine with people claiming NYT is left leaning — that’s fine. That doesn’t mean it’s totally bias and can’t be trusted. It’s one of the most widely acclaimed media outlets in the world with a long history. There’s a difference between NYT & MSNBC. There’s levels to bias. I think Fox News is hyper-partisan garbage but I also acknowledge that The Wallstreet Journal & Forbes (that both lean to the right) are much more credible. I don’t dismiss their reporting simply because they lean right.
