Tbh I think Kamikaze classic status will depend on what he drops next. If he drops another amazing album as a follow up, then Kamikaze will be the album that started the second prime of Em. If he drops another turd of an album than Kamikaze won't be looked upon as a classic.

Can't be a classic. There are some very average songs on the project, it's not consistent enough and most songs have the same subject matter. One thing I've realised also, Em talks ALOT about ghostwriters throughout the entire project, weird subject matter to keep going back to.

Ringer to Lucky you is Em's best work this decade.

not a weird subject at all, the album is as much about eminems legacy and his place in hip hop as it is the current state of hip hop. someone who has 20 years into the game and always been at the top level of it those entire 20 years (reviews or not, his albums always go number 1 when they drop) hes from a time when you had to sound different or you were whack....now theres a certain level of having to stick to a certain sound as everything else. hes from a time where you had to write, you had to push your pen, you had to apply yourself, now ppl are just rapping what someone else wrote, its taking the genuineness, the perspective, and the autobiographical stature that hip hop once represented out of the genre. its ppl just preforming what other people wrote for them, and its weird for rap. sure dre and Kanye do it but theyre also top tier producers and mix engineers so theyre still contributing. if youre just rapping, or cooing a f---ing melody someone else wrote youre doing the same thing as every other genre. that's something that stood out to hip hop was that you wrote your s--- (or were supposed to) so yeah, someone who lives inside of his note books and obsesses over words and how to make lines and schemes work is gonna look down on someone who has their s--- written for them bc youre not an emcee at that point.
