So some people may know I'm a huge mayday fan and they're pretty much the only artist I listen to from strange. I had some spare time and decided to write my thoughts about their new album. This was my first proper listen without interruption and these are my thoughts. Beware it's a long post.

Perimeter: basically an intro. Probably their most interesting intro. I guess setting up the narrative.
Escape plans : very smooth. Interesting beat change.
News to me : more fast pace. Not to fond. Wrekonize flow doesn't feel right. Bernz is impressing me more then usual.
How would you know : this is the wrekonize I love. Ohh this beat definitely suits him. Definitely one of my early favourites. Chorus is a tad too long imo.
Better place : one of the music videos, which means they feel this is one of the better songs or a catchy song. Catchy definitely.
Long night : The typical tech nine feature. Not a bad song. Tech seems to rapping slower then usual, he adds to the song.
Pretender : that drum line. Very carabian feel. Another early favourite.
System : not feeling this song.
Tempted :wrecks flow is on point. Apart from that, this feels like a filler.
Extra : there's a high pitched drum or something that annoys me. Apart from that, it's a decent song. Not the best it not the worst.
Have someone : My favourite song so far. From production to chorus to each verse, amazing.
Airplane mode : probably my favourite single. Seems like this albums version of June, here and shortcuts and deadends. Funny thing is I'm writing this while flying.
Save me from myself : imo another filler. Don't get me wrong, it's a good song. Just seems out of place.
Do: when the single came out, I was dissapointed, but it's grown on me and I actually like the song. In a rare occasion I prefer bernz to wrek on this.
Same old us: enjoying this. Enjoying the production.
One way trip : last full song. Very strong ending. First and last song are strong. Consistency as usual by mayday.
Don't rescue me: basically a closure. Oh there's the strange music tag.

Overall a great album. I don't know if I've been airing bernz in previous projects, but he really surprised me in this project. He acc has chance of being the better rapper on this album. Which previously wrekonize always won. Definitely better than future vintage. Don't know how it will match up with believers as time goes. Honestly need to get in more listens to fully understand the narrative.

Great review but unlike you I didn't enjoy Bernz flow on do ,I find his flow very cringy.
To me Wrek in Mayday > Bernz solo > Bernz in Mayday > Wrek solo

I guess each to their own. I would put wrek solo above bernz solo. However wrecks last solo album was dissapointing. Th e war within was amazing

Meh...Maydays album is just decent IMO. On par with Future Vintage.

Everyone on Strange has lost their edge minus Rittz and he's about to leave.

Tech is simply a fool. I mean he had kendrick, jay rock, schoolboy & ab soul on his label at one point. Strange could of been such an amazing label. There is no reason krizz shouldn't be one of the biggest singers out. But tech likes anyone that raps. If you a rapper he thinks your dope and he'll sign you.

But... he signed Darrien Saffron and Above Waves. He's definitely reaching out more. It's 100% marketing that Strange needs to improve. Just because Tech doesn't "care" about the radio doesn't mean his artists don't. He needs to market them individually.

The Safron signing was an abortion. Still haven't listened to Above Waves. Mackenzie is only listenable on darker tracks.

Safron & Mackenzie absolutely ruined Dominion, although it still would've s----d without them.

The main problem with Strange the last few years is the quality of music. It's gone downhill significantly from EVERYONE besides Rittz, and again he's about to leave.

I don't know if it's because of all the touring they do, or they just got lazy, or they lost some of their creativity or what, but every Strange album like the last 2 years minus Rittz has been underwhelming and disappointing.

Well, ignoring all of the subjective stuff like the projects being bad or the quality of music going downhill, I still believe marketing is the crux of the issue. It's not really about making music that is good per say, but to reach a wide enough audience that the quality of your music is trumped by sales numbers and buzz.

I do personally believe the recent projects have been underwhelming. Saffron doesn't mesh with the music I like and I know nothing about Above Waves. But all that said, their signing to the label is a positive thing to the degree that different types of fans now gravitate towards Strange Music.

Why not promoting unique music?
It doesn't sound like Safron helped Strange Music to gain new fans,what's the point to get exposure if in the end people will know you but not listen to you?
