Sep 19, 2017 This....was one of the more awkward things I've ever seen, and I couldn't even make it past 1:25 when Trump was mouthing along to a 'shady' chant. Wtf was the point of that? lol don't remember it at all.
Sep 19, 2017 Threads like this show us how much his legacy as been destroyed by the s--- he released after 2003. Maybe it's really time to stop.
Sep 19, 2017 Wow. I think he is the least funny dude on this forum. All he does is regurgitate old edgy comments which gets likes by the same 5 people always.
Sep 19, 2017 He is very overrated, arguably the most overrated rapper of all time. He's very skilled when it comes to pure rapping but he hasn't done anything interesting other than that in a long time. It makes his work hardly interesting, and when he actually does something somewhat captivating, his rapping goes downhill a little bit. Just a very skilled artist who could be doing way more interesting things with the skills he has developed.
Sep 19, 2017 I pretty much agree with what you considered good, bad and average. But although it does tarnish his legacy to have made as much bad albums as good ones, it doesn't remove the fact that his highs were extremely high. There are plenty of rappers who have a more "consistant" catalogue. And their bad albums might not be nearly as bad as Eminem's. But there highs are no where near his either. That's the main difference. As of 2017, Eminem has more bad material than good imo. But songs like Lose Yourself, amongst others, is the kind of s--- that people will be going back to for generations. It's the type of song that gets listed on any greatest songs of all time list.
Sep 19, 2017 So whether it be for the contraversy or impact, for the writing ability or just for the music, he definitely deserves a spot amongst the GOATs. You have artists like Biggie and Pac, they don't have the biggest catalogues and passed away in their peak. They never even had the time to go downhill. And i'm 100% sure they would have. Yet these guys are always on top of the GOAT lists. If Eminem had died in a similar fashion when he was in his peak, people wouldn't even have questioned him being listed as a GOAT. EM definitely has enough great material to be considered on the same level. At the end of the day, the bad projects aren't really what people are going to remember 20 years from now.
Sep 19, 2017 I agree on Eminem being overrated. And it's obvious he wouldn't have sold nearly as much if he was black. But tbh, black or white, he still would have sold a good amount imo. There's just a lot of people out there who can relate to some of his songs. I think it reaches more people. A lot of rappers will rap about the hood and gangbanging and s---, but not many people can relate to that. And the people who do don't usually by albums. On the other hand, millions of people can relate to growing up in a f----- up environment, having relationship issues or hating their 9-5 job. So i think the subject matter and how personal it can be and the songs themselves make a bigger difference in terms of sales than the simple fact that he is white.
