A damning report concluded yesterday that Norwegian police could have prevented mass murderer Anders Behring Breivik's devastating Oslo bomb attack in 2011 and that his subsequent slaughter of young people on Utoya island could have been halted earlier if officers had acted properly.

The findings were the results of independent inquiry into Norway's worst act of violence since the Second World War. Seventy-seven people, most of them young, were killed and more than 240 others were wounded in Breivik's twin attacks on 22 July last year.

In the aftermath, police were criticised for bungling their attempt to rescue victims and for not acting fast enough. However, yesterday's report amounted to a conclusive and withering indictment of police failure.

The inquiry headed by lawyer Alexandra Bech Gjoerv produced a 482-page report which found that Breivik's bomb attack on Oslo's government complex "could have been prevented by effective implementation of security measures that were already in place".

A pedestrian called police 10 minutes after Breivik detonated his Oslo bomb and provided a good description of his appearance, but the tip-off was not followed up for two hours.

Although it was clear that a major terrorist attack was under way, police failed to issue a nationwide alert. No roadblocks or observation posts were set up and there was no attempt made to mobilise police helicopters. The police command centre responsible for tracking down Breivik refused offers of help from neighbouring police districts.

Look at the syllabus for any Soc 101 course at any accredited university in the US or Canada. Pick a text at random. Ctrl+f "racism." This is not in dispute.

.........................have you ever read a book? What's Les Mis about? The Great Gatsby? To k--- a Mockingbird? Uncle Tom's Cabin? Huck Finn? The Awakening? Literature, specifically what's studied in high schools, is almost exclusively picked specifically for its sociopolitical importance.

Yeah that's the point entirely, I was banned unfairly, and the same guys (admins now, not mod's) who did nothing about my banned status allowed WPG to do the exact same thing without warning. And i came in here with the intention to b---- about it. And b---- about it i did !

See, we aren't actually disagreeing on anything here. Why we found ourselves arguing in the first place is beyond me.

No, i wasn't disagreeing with you in any way. I completely agree with you (well not completely but i'm not disputing it here). What i do disagree with and am arguing against is WPG's outright declaration that racism against white people doesn't exist. That's the ONLY thing i'm disagreeing with here. And my point was aimed at THAT as opposed to anything you were saying.

I'm really s--- at writing though, i was a bit better at it 2 years ago, but since i started watching futbol(intentional spelling)/gaming/listening to music/chasing women/focusing studies on science i kinda fell off. I think going off at WPG has helped my sharpness a little . I like his writing ability, but i do dislike the way he goes about debating. (i typed a whole essay about what i dislike about it , but maybe it's a little too long)

Here's a funny question for you guys, when was the last time you ever felt secure or even comfortable the moment you see a police car or even an officer?

I've always felt there is a giant discord and division between the general public and those in law-enforcement, whether you believe the recent turn of events involving police brutality has been over-sensationalized it's a further reflection of the long-going abuse of power and the lack of preparation to protect themselves and the citizens in any circumstance or situation. Whether it's the difficulties of dealing with communities that are deeply disenfranchised or the deep-rooted racial relations that continues to surface it's ugly head, for the sake of avoiding further Dallas and Ferguson's it should be paramount that law-enforcement does receive the proper training and recruiting to handle the responsibility.
