I respect your taste Narsh, and I'll admit, I haven't really cared for his music, so I don't have much of an opinion when it comes to YT, so I came into this thread with an open mind and hoped to expand on my taste.

But, I don't find any of those lyrics good, like... at all.

"Climbing like a mountain" "Pop p---- like a Snapple" "Bank roll big like a bouncer" "I still sleep with my mother"

    :what22:

Like, I feel like I'm being trolled right now. Like, am I missing something? They seem so basic.

Then again, maybe I'm too old and just don't understand what makes music great anymore lol. I find myself doing that a lot nowadays. Aw well.

whats wrong with I still sleep with my mother? i think its hilarious/endearing for a rapper to admit he still curls up with his mom. but then again, you gotta get the context.

and with thug, the delivery plays a HUGE role. he adds depth to a seemingly basic line just by how he performs it.

i guarantee you you'll like the song if you give it a try:

(i had to upload it for u because they removed all versions of it off line since its a leak (and an important one apparently): https://clyp.it/ozc0wiuv

also, thug is incredibly versatile. people who love his work as much as i do do so because of his talent as a vocalist first and foremost. his ability to emote, his cadence, his various nuances, etc. he's as batshit crazy as ODB but with a sense of rhythm like bone thugs.

just check these out and let me know what you think, friend:

What universe are we in when the guy who basically runs the Young Thug section, has multiple Young Thug avys, quotes Young Thug in posts, quotes Young Thug in his profile, quotes Young Thug in real life, raps over Young Thug beats, has met and takes pictures with Young Thug, listens to Young Thug non-stop, memorizes Young Thug lyrics, votes for Young Thug in every poll, and constantly defends Young Thug, is complaining about people being biased about Young Thug.

I'm at work, but I'll give it a listen later and I'll let you know what I think, bruh.

I've been trying to find new school rappers to get into lately, and while I like some of them, there hasn't been a rapper that I've truly been into, or couldn't wait until their album dropped. I just feel rappers are boring now, minus battle rap.

That's not to say I can't recognize talent, or appreciate their art. I just don't find anyone to be that great, and maybe it has to do with my taste in hip hop and what I grew up on.

It's not to say I won't chill with my friends and listen to s--- or ride to it, but I don't find myself excited for any new age artists like I used to. I feel like almost everyone is just bland and going through the motions, whether message wise, content wise, flow wise, lyric wise, music wise, etc.

I think the last "new" artists I really liked was Run The Jewels, but I've always enjoyed Killer Mike because of his collabs with Outkast, so I had a bias to them. I don't feel like they count lol.

Definitely dying for something new though, but I'm starting to think that hip hop has passed me by lol. :hovcry:

Well regardless of your thoughts on hip hop as a whole, Thug is definitely way out there when compared to your usual style of rap. But i mean, you know me, I love battle rap, i battle rap myself lol, I love all sorts of regular rap, but at the same time Thug is one of my favorite artists of all time already.

So i think with an open mind you might be able to find something worth following with his music

as for people more within in ur usual tastes...have u given Vince Staples a chance? U might like Lil Herb too to be honest. freddie gibbs is putting out great music...danny brown.

Yeah, I'm down man. I keep listening to everyone's suggestions, and I just find everyone painfully boring. And it's not like I listen like "Oh, they s---"... I legit go "Oh, they're good, he's got talent", but I don't find myself latching on.

Danny Brown, is a prime example lol. I listened to him, thought he was good, but nothing resonated with me. I don't find myself being like "I can't wait to hear the next song!"

Doesn't mean I hate him or think he's wack, I just am indifferent.

I get way more excited for battles than anything, but I fall behind in those too lol. I'm glad you're doing them. My boy Marshall Law does battles. He's OK, but I used to perform at shows with DNA, Danny Myers (who is one of my favorites, I love his style), Unos Lavos, and Cortez (they used to host them).

I'm gonna check them out though.

In all honesty, I think it's the way people rap now, like the structure of their verses and even their delivery. I feel like everyone is either overly corny or too monotone or both. I find production to be really boring too now.

Don't get it twisted either, I cannot stand the whole "we're real hip hop" s--- either. I find them even more corny and bland as anything.

Again, it might just be a generational thing and maybe I just outgrew rap.

I agree that I think he's a little biased -or at the least overly excited- when it comes to thug but was that last comment needed lol. Never seen you like this before tbh

    He's having a breakdown

Also, regardless of how much I like a certain artist, my take of their work isn't biased. I'd be a pretty s-----y critic if it was.

Hey narsh maybe u should quit being such a c---- and realize some people genuinely can't understand him or his accent, not everyone is just looking to discredit Thug

This is coming from someone who's never had a problem understanding Thug

OP is clearly NOT about the people who genuinely give him a chance and have trouble understanding him. So I don't know why you're acting like it is

But hey, at least you got to call me a c---- :pfffft:
