He then followed up with his first independent album, entitled Setbacks, released in January 2011. The project, released under TDE to digital retailers only, reached number 100 on the US Billboard 200 chart. A little over a year later, his second independent album Habits & Contradictions, was also released exclusively to digital retailers. The album received generally favorable reviews and debuted at number 111 on the US Billboard 200. After signing with Interscope, Hanley subsequently began recording his major-label debut studio album, entitled Oxymoron. Jan 27, 2015 no way he is, probably next year or the year after. Though It would be smart for a release next year because his hype kinda died down, unless he gets a bunch of single in this year with some features from kendrick, danny brown, asap and some other people. Q is a versatile guy and works hard, i can honestly see him jumping on any track and getting some buzz.
Jan 27, 2015 Well, he was working on his next album last year. Wouldn't be mad if every black hippy member dropped a album in 2015.
Jan 27, 2015 me neither just highly unlikely. I can see ltr and isaiahs upcoming project, but i doubt schoolboy q
Jan 27, 2015 that wont happen dude, they said it in interviews that they are focusing on there solo projects rather than that. I can see them dropping collective songs but other than that not a chance for a while. A kendrick x cole album is more likely lol
Jan 27, 2015 I thought it would be good to have it exist on his own, rather than been buried in the kendrick section.
Jan 27, 2015 @Creation put some serious work into this section...these threads will really come in handy one day..esp near releases for these artists good mod pick @Mike Tyson
Jan 27, 2015 d--- thank you man. since im the mod of the creative section,im going to put alot of work into it soon. Im still going to make as many artist's threads as possible in the music section.
Jan 27, 2015 Q is mad underrated man, his flow and delivery is so versatile... He's one of the best, man.

Feb 5, 2015 I absolutely love Schoolboy Q's ''Oxymoron'' album. I know its not what people expected but for some reason it really clicked with me. I have always somewhat liked Q, maybe not all his music, but a good amount of it, but Oxymoron is probably his most consistent project to date & a brilliant debut album, its clear Q isnt a lyrical rapper, but he sure knows how to make well crafted tracks. Here are my issues though: - They made a mistake on Man of the year, as they mastered the clean version of the track to be used on the album but at the last moment they added the swearing back in, its very evident during the hook as the swear words are very low volume wise, so they f----- up with that. - The beginning of Hoover Street was a terrible decision, but i edited it out & made sure the track starts perfectly. - I feel pusher man shouldnt of been an individual track, i think it should of been labelled as an interlude. I added it to the end of ''Grooveline Pt.2'' & d---, it works brilliantly. Overall the track is already quiet chilled out but adding pusher man to the end really adds to the chilled out vibe. - ''His & Her Friend'' shouldnt of been an individual track either. I added it to the end of ''Studio'' & they compliment each other fantastically. So here is the tracklist: 01. Gangsta 02. Los Awesome (Ft. Jay Rock) 03. Collard Greens (Ft. Kendrick Lamar) 04. What They Want (Ft. 2Chainz) 05. Hoover Street 06. Studio/His & Her Friends (Ft. BJ The Chicago Kid & SZA) 07. Prescription/Oxymoron 08. The Purge (Ft. Tyler, The Creator & Kurupt) 09. Blind Threats (Ft. Raekwon) 10. h--- Of A Night 11. Break The Bank 12. Man Of The Year 13. Grooveline/Pusher Man (Ft. Suga Free) 14. F--k LA 15. Gravy 16. Yay Yay 17. Californication (Ft. A$AP Rocky) If anyone ever wants me to send them the edited version just let me know & ill send it asap.
Feb 5, 2015 disagree about his and her friends. works much better as a solo track imo like I never liked t at the end of los awesome. the change in pace is too much. but the actual song is dope. grooveline pt2 one of my favorite tracks
Feb 5, 2015 I like most of the songs on the album, but the sequencing makes it hard to listen to as a project. Too many long songs in a row. Still, Gangsta -> Los Awesome -> Collard Greens always gets me hyped.
