No tpab. List is wrong. At least Staples and Gibbs got a good write-up

TPAB a notable omission I see.

Good to see Oddisee on the list though.

Well considering you and your hipster pals purposely name obscure records to seem knowledgable, it shouldn't be a shock.

    1. "hipster" doesn't mean anything anymore.
    2. if you're going to stretch and try to throw the term around, it's going to apply to people putting travis scott and kevin abstract and their ilk on year-end lists.

how about you turn off the eminem for once, stop yelling at the clouds over your house and listen to some more music? you might like it. i know your whole schtick is not liking me but jesus christ dude you're in your twenties.

very little on that list is genuinely obscure, btw. there's an african record and a relatively small rock band from seattle, but these people are mostly known quantities. the fact that you get your new music from deleted scenes on the Entourage box set is just unfortunate.

Nice list, don't like how you guys just grouped Thug's & Future's projects together though.

that's a fair point, and something we went back and forth on internally. but at a certain point, these lists are about discovery. i.e.- "these fifty albums from 2015 are great" is going to be more valuable in the long run than "this is a definitive order." so grouping those trios of records together opens up four spots.

    honest question:

did u guys purposely leave tpab off of this list to make a statement? or do u guys really think that tpab wasn't one of the 50 best records this year?

i don't think it's the greatest or anything, but i definitely think it's deserving of a top 50 spot. granted i haven't heard all of these, but i would put it over a number of the albums.

(not that J. Cole is arousing in any way, shape, or form, it’s just that his fans never get laid)

That's not nice to say :hovcry:...Haven't heard OME's Catcher Of The Fade yet imma check that out now. Nice list nonetheless, I'm a big fan of most of the rap releases on it.

You wish hipster didn't mean anything. It describes you and your pals pretty well.

And not only have I never watched Entourage, what have I even said about Eminen in the past year?

Anyways, I have to admit I lol'd when you said these people are "known quantities". What a hilariously relative term. I mean, I've heard Junglepussy's breakout mixtape, but pretty sure her album and career floats under most people's radar.

Tpab is objectively better than at least half of these projects I'm sure

perry, you have no idea what you're talking about. hipsters are making aesthetic choices before they're making substantive ones. that's never been the case with me, nor is it here. i'm sorry it makes you so mad.

    so you staunchly defend saigon...unironically???

    you haven't

she's probably one of the 20 biggest rappers in new york right now. a music outlet that focuses on rap isn't really writing for people who don't know the 20 biggest rappers in new york.

yeah but see you're a lame, angry person for guessing that, getting angry, and dismissing the list instead of saying "hmm this seems wrong" but at least exploring a little bit. stop posturing. it's corny.
