Apr 4, 2017 Next season has to be much better then this past season. The finale wasn't bad. I actively yelling at rick to s---t that trash b---- in the face haha. Plot armor on some characters is f---ing ridiculous though. You mean to tell me that out of the hundreds of bullets fired at the cabin of the truck negan was in, with his f---ing window down, that none hit him?
Apr 5, 2017 Finished this.... I liked the season up until the ending That was the gayest waste of time ever. I like actual resolutions
Apr 6, 2017 Kind of random but I love the scene in the season finale where Negan sees Maggie and he's like, "That widow is alive! Guns a blazing!" Lmao idk why but I laughed so hard @ that.
Apr 7, 2017 Overall probably the weakest season since three, but it had its moments -- I still enjoyed it for the most part. Had some great stuff despite the filler like the opening episode obviously, Rick being broken down, Daryl not being broken down, Eugene switching sides, and Negan in general. Unlike the Governor who stuck around half a season too long for no real reason, Negan is a great villain so I'm happy to see him survive to season 8 even if they could have condensed the season so the finale was whatever war they are building up to. Last episode was great up until the tiger came. Very anti-climactic because you just knew everyone was coming to save the day and I was hoping for something more surprising. Like others have mentioned, way too much plot armor on a bunch of the characters, I woulda liked to see someone else die along with Sasha so that the group saw some actual consequences. People are exaggerating how bad this season is. I don't think it's anywhere close to as bad as some of AWFUL writing and pacing in season 1-3. If they made each season 12 episodes instead of 16 I think the pacing issue would be fixed -- I'd say for the most part they've done a much better job at balancing character development with action and plot and shock value since season 4, though they're kinda dragging their feet with killing off characters who have been around since season 1-2 at this point.
Apr 7, 2017 Fair points brethren, but dont you see the rinse and repeat aspect of the show? they find peace for a bit and everythings going good... then bam theres a new villain. The villain beats rick at first, then eventually after losing a close group member, rick wins. Even with this Negan storyline, as powerful as he is, its the same s---. He's gonna lose to rick eventually. Theyre gonna run around, lose another cpl members then start the cycle again. The show almost has no direction you know? Like whats the end game? Are they just gonna keep running around? Or will they find some sort of cure and start to build a functioning society again? 7 seasons of the exact same s--- is ridiculous imo.
Apr 7, 2017 Also, every time they k--- off a character they give them some bs backstory the same episode. Like d---, lets give this character a story before we k--- em.
Apr 7, 2017 The show is meant to go on forever (they have said this)... so considering if these events happened in real life, this sounds about right. You build a society and then some crazy f---s try and take it from you.. everything has been reduced to nothing and like the old days with nations conquering each other, that's what they have been reduced to. It's just in the form of small communities. Maybe they settle down for years and start educating/rebuilding and work toward a cure but how is that in any way entertaining? Yea it adds an arc like the scientist researching the zombies during the Governor season but they need to travel or find someone that is doing that.. and like we would be, they are focused on surviving instead. The only possible way I see to make things interesting again is a time skip or they manage to travel to some new land... but really it's a show about zombies infesting the world and everything is ruined. I don't think there's suppose to be an overarching outcome to the series other than survive
Apr 7, 2017 I definitely agree with you to an extent, it's kinda "monster of the week"-ish in terms of the villains but like @Final said I don't think there's gonna be an outcome like a cure or anything. The show is more about how people survive and live in a post-apoc world (who are the real monsters, the monsters or the people??? WOW SO DEEP). Now that we're invested in the characters it's about seeing what happens to them. The first few seasons I didn't care about any of the characters because it had s--- development (remember T-Dawg? Lol). Also agree with @Devil White, Tara episode was good.
May 7, 2017 Man the comics are so fire to me. Spoiler: TWD Comics major character death So I just finished issue 167. There's been a lingering arc where Andrea was bitten while they were trying to push a herd of walkers. She died in this issue and I gotta say, they really did their best with this s---. I felt so awkward cause it's a comic but it was super emotional. Robert Kirkman even attached a letter of apology at the end talking about how he thought this up on a plane and started crying, and he had to fight with himself on whether or not to go through it. Just thought I'd mention this lol.
May 8, 2017 I didn't click the spoiler since I'm not caught up (I'm on like #133 or so) but thanks for the reminder to read some more
May 8, 2017 this so much. any human to sustain their life, has to take life, one way or another. that's it, there's no way around it. these shows that try to portray humans as "monsters" (or whatever word you'd use to describe it) fall short to me.
Jul 21, 2017 Trailer for season 8 is out. What the f--- is going on at the end of it? Don't tell me Rick was in coma? Or Rick died?
