The Canadian R&B star got involved in a fight at the Cromwell Hotel in Las Vegas in January. When police broke it up, it's claimed the star, who had a hit with I Can't Feel My Face, punched an officer. The 25-year-old, whose real name is Abel Tesfaye, will have to complete 50 hours of community service, which will take place in Canada. He'll also have to pay $1,000 (£650) to an injured police officers' fund, complete an anger management course and undergo a scheme for people who offend after drinking too much. The case will be dismissed once Tesfaye has completed his sentence, on the condition that he's stayed out of trouble. He pleaded no contest to the charge and offered no defence. It's not the same as admitting to the crime but has similar consequences to a guilty plea. The artist, who featured on Ariana Grande's Love Me Harder, shot to fame after uploading a series of tracks to YouTube. His new album, Beauty Behind the Madness, has sold more than half a million copies in a couple of months.
