Mar 14, 2016 Ok, so I've wanted to write this for awhile now, so here it goes: 1. Evil twin was the last track on MMLP2 - Significant because it's the first time I would say he's really made a go at reviving Slim Shady or even suggesting it since Relapse. Combine that with the fact that it was the last track on the album, and hold that thought. 2. In the Phenomenal music video/short film, the chase ends when Eminem falls at the ground floor of a building which seems to be a stage having Dr. Dre standing at the corner saying, "Right on time". Eminem is then shown to grab a mic and standing facing the lights till the camera shuts off. 3. On 'Medicine Man' Em's last few lines... "Dre make the bass pump and let the tape run for old time's sake, I spit it straight through, this is take one,the moment you're waiting for has come but..." 4. Em was supposedly recording for LL Cool J, and expressed direct public interest in recording again with Redman. 5. Em posted a 'random' picture of a tape collection obviously covering old school artists. 6. Em re-releases SSLP on tape. 7. At Lollapalooza, Em wore Ice-T and Beastie Boys t-shirts. Conclusion: Em has blatantly suggested that he is clearly inspired, motivated and influenced to take it back to the old school days. This being said, I believe he is clearly currently recording or at least planning on recording an album which takes it back to the original formula of SSLP with Dr Dre production, fused with old school elements of that time and prior. I hope and pray that Bass Brothers would lead production as per SSLP, but I'm sure you know what I mean. Very keen to discuss this and hear alternate opinions.
Mar 14, 2016 Problem is that we never heard a word about Em by any producer recently, so at this point it's just speculation. Your theory is probably right tho, Em loves the old school rap and everything around that, i wouldn't be surprised if he comes out with something like that.
Mar 14, 2016 Correct me if I'm wrong, but based on historical evidence I believe that almost every producer that has prematurely mentioned working with EM prior to an album, has yet to have those songs or song featured on the final cut?
Mar 14, 2016 I really don't know anything about this. But if it's true, now we know why nothing came out about a new album yet. Let's hope something is going to happen soon.
Mar 14, 2016 He did the old school theme with Bezerk. Also, I don't think there's this deep of thought put into it.
Mar 14, 2016 Also Em did about 50 verses for Medicine Man and I'm pretty sure Dre picked the one he preferred so the odds of a hint being put in there are pretty slim.
Mar 14, 2016 I know what you mean, I tend to sometimes laugh when people come up with theories, but I can confidently say that I believe there is at least truth in the 2016 activity (tape, old school collection etc etc). Even excluding the Medicine Man reference, account for the Phenomenal video etc?
Mar 14, 2016 Look i see what you mean and what you're sayin but I'd be surprised if it was the case. Mainly cos i just don't get my hopes up anymore
Mar 14, 2016 I think the moment your waiting for has come sort of fits with the hook? "the moment your waiting for has come but the fame and fortune.... I don't think anyone will guess what the album will be and he's building massive suspense because we have literally no information on it but id like to think it would be this year and who knows may even be his final album? not a bad theory tho
Mar 14, 2016 I hope so. At this point, at the very least I want a Dre feature. If he could do some production as well. That be nice
Mar 14, 2016 Slim Shady has made appearances after Relapse prior to Evil Twin. I'd say he showed up on h---: The Sequel. I think he knows his whole Slim Shady persona isn't at all what fans want for an entire album anymore.
