Oct 11, 2015 I mean I love his current voice. But nothing touches SSLP and 8 mile soundtrack voice. The legendary voice that printed Lose Yourself in Millions of people hearts. Both are orgasmic for my ear, but I miss the ghetto accent ><
Oct 11, 2015 Yeah this is f---ing pathetic. People are taking reasons to hate new Eminem to new heights.
Oct 11, 2015 His voice has changed a lot throughout his career. First it was high pitched/nasal in SSLP & a little bit in MMLP & Devils Night, then in 8 Mile/Eminem Show era it got a bit deeper, not only on songs, but on interviews as well. The drugs seem like they made the biggest change on his voice, just listen to the Re-Up or his guest verse on that Akon track, sounded hella hoarse and raspy. 2009 & on, he's just sounded older & his voice has been far deeper than its ever been pre hiatus. Hes managed to sorta obscure it with accents(relapse) or screaming(recovery & h--- the sequel), but with this "rap bot" flow he has, his age has definitely been showing, & hes gotta quit with that flow, its stale af.
Oct 11, 2015 Yeah, like listen to Relapse when he uses his normal voice. It's deeper, but certainly not growling or hoarse. Shouting everything through his throat during the Recovery sessions and tour must've ripped his vocal cords. That's why his normal voice sounds so distressed.
Oct 11, 2015 I don't think it's about drugs. Slim Shady LP voice was done on purpose and also many artists sounds how can I say squel if u know what I mean. His real voice was the voice he rapped with on MMLP then it changed a little bit because of the way he raps and he grew up a lil more in TES. He was nearly 4 years older when he came back with Relapse which he was older causing his voice to be more deeper but he tried to hide it with those accents. Also, he did the shouting thing with Recovery because he wanted to hide it. Finally, he made peace with his new deeper voice on MMLP 2 and he started to rap more like with his normal voice but still the flows of his still strugling just because he is still uncomfortable with his deeper voice. He should give us his normal voice with a normal smooth flow already...
Oct 11, 2015 His voice sounds the normalest it's been in a while on this remix what the h--- are you smoking.
Oct 12, 2015 I agree, but I think that happened between Relapse and Recovery, and not in 2004, and that doesn't make sense. His performance with Black Thought in Rock The Bells in 2009 and Relapse are different than what he did in 98-04, but his voice was right. Someone talked about The Warning too. He was screaming and weirdly stacking his vocals on the Despicable freestyle, Recovery and HTS but something had already changed. Got a lot worse in 2014/2015 though. I "sonically" can't enjoy any song, any verse post-MMLP2. They're all bland, boring, generic verses. His weird voice worked on Vegas and on the first part of Medicine Man, but that's about it. His delivery has been f----- up since 2010 and I don't think it will come back.
