    They lost...

I watched the patriots cheat as a kid and still watch them cheat. Does that count?

Ortiz and Ramirez confirmed. There's more from the year too, if you look into. I'll give you an updated list on Boston steroid users.

-- Manny Alexander: The report touches on a 2000 report in which steroids were found in the car of Alexander, a Red Sox utility infielder, in Massachusetts. No new information appears to be included.

-- Paxton Crawford: The report mentions a 2006 story in which Crawford, a former Sox prospect, says he used steroids in the Boston Red Sox clubhouse. No new information appears to be included.

-- Jose Canseco: One of baseball's poster boys for steroids, Canseco is mentioned in the report, but is not tied in the report to using while with the Red Sox between 1995 and 1996. He does, however, have a supposed tie to Roger Clemens' alleged steroid use. More on that below.
-- Josias Manzanillo: Manzanillo played a single game with the Red Sox in 1991. His connection with steroids began later in his career with the New York Mets, according to the report.

-- Roger Clemens: Thebiggest bombshell in the report, really. Clemens was introduced to serious, hardcore steroids by Jose Canseco, another former Boston player, after the two left Boston for Toronto, according to the report. Clemens was serious enough about it to be injected with Winstrol by needle, the report says.

-- Mo Vaughn: As I've said before, I was a massive Mo Vaughn fan as a kid, so this one hits home. According to the report, Vaughn was introduced to human growth hormone after injuring his ankle with the New York Mets in 2001.

-- Chris Donnels: A bit player his whole career, Donnels played 40 games with the Red Sox in 1995. According to the Mitchell report, Donnels is suspected of receiving HGH and steroids while with the Mets between 2000 and 2004.

-- Mike Lansing: Surviving Grady, an avid Lansing hater, will probably love this: The report says Lansing was involved in several human growth hormone and testosterone transactions in 2002. Lansing played on the Red Sox from 2000-2001.

-- Kent Mercker: A National League player most of his life, Mercker made five starts for the 1999 Red Sox. According to the Mitchell report, Mercker received one human growth hormone kit in October 2002 while recovering from surgery.

-- Mike Stanton: A wily reliever with the Red Sox from 1995-1996, Stanton received human growth hormone while with the Yankees in 2001 and the Mets in 2003. Fun fact: He also won the first game I ever saw in person at Fenway Park.

-- Eric Gagne: An abject fail as a member of the Red Sox bullpen, Gagne is accused of receiving human growth hormone while with the Los Angeles Dodgers in the report. I covered this at length already here.

-- Brendan Donnelly: Another failure with the Red Sox in 2007, Donnelly is accused of using anabolic steroids in 2003 and 2004 in the report. I covered this at length here.

    Feel dirty yet? Me too.
@Worm You should feel pretty guilty too. It seems let's see who can do more steroids is a game between Boston and New York.

Wow, Ortiz especially was their best player during the playoffs most of those years if I remember right, Ramirez obviously was up there too. That's a pretty big blow tbh, unfortunate.

    Yiiilkes Kon.

lol at some of those nobodies listed. Go through any team in the league and you have a deep list. Most of the league was roiding back in the late 90's/early 2000's.

    What?

I'm not saying they should strip their championship but it does make it less impressive if their best players were on steroids, and yes I'm well aware many were doing it, doesn't mean many great players weren't doing it. It's their 1st world series in 100 years or whatever, would have been cooler if it was 100% legit, that's all.

    *edit*

and I guess I shouldn't be surprised about Ortiz' steroid use, he s----d on the Twins basically and then all of a sudden got great. I remember he claimed the Twins used to tell him to change his swing and the Sox didn't, so he kinda pretended that was the reason I guess.

I thought you were a baseball fan im sorry. Drug testing in baseball has been very thorough since the 04 season though. Ortiz has never been suspended and that whole anonymous leak thing for a list of players that were supposedly tested in 03 was dumb. Why does that list come out 6 years later in 2009? Ortiz will forever be linked to roids because of that but hes never been popped and all the Sox World Series' were won during the drug testing era.

I realize you have a small brain and a pathetic hate for all Boston sports (lol did you just mention deflate gate? hows that investigation going btw?)but even you im sure have heard of the Mitchell Report.

Except for the 1st one you mean right? Fair enough, and yeah I was a big baseball fan back then, sort of still follow it but not nearly as much as other sports. I follow basketball, football and hockey way closer than baseball now. I sort of remember that report coming out but didn't remember Ortiz being linked to it.

Yeah I've seen that report and others about the steroid era. What does that prove wrong about the write up I posted? Every sports analyst agrees the sox and Yankees took the steroid era to a whole other level. A lot of players in that report you posted used ped's for recovering from injuries. Something the 04 Redsox didn't use steroids for.

Every single Boston sports hating analyst probably does agree with you.

I went ahead and bolded the part where you mousetrapped yourself.

Again that "leak" is from an anonymous source about a drug test from Spring Training 03, nothing to do with 04.

Ya, you probably dont know what that word means.

Dude, you're really reaching in that post. Now every sport analyst that calls out the Sox steroid binge era are just 'haters' Take the L now man and we'll move on. The 'leak' is legit btw. You can find other similar reports about it too in the 03-04 Sox era.
