    Just dropped 500 on some upgrades..

    ddr4 ram 16gb and gtx 960 4bg

    With a new processor forgot which one

    And a new mobo of course

    If I were you I would choose desktop PC. I'm not a fan of laptops.

    Buying pre-built is fine, as long as it has the parts you want. You also get a warranty on the whole PC which is nice and makes things a lot easier if something stops working. Some sites also have good deals that make it cheaper than building it yourself. Also saves you time if you don't feel like spending hours and hours doing research.

    For games you wont need anything more than an i5 CPU. Video Card will depend on your budget but Steam games are mostly processor-intensive anyway.

    Having an audiocard or an amp will help if you want extra power to your speakers but some say they're completely unnecessary. Since RAM is so cheap just go all out and get 16GB
