Mar 9, 2017 What if instead of doing Artist SXN's you made it so that it was SXN's based off locations. Examples being Chicago SXN, Atlanta SXN, Bay Area SXN in my opinion this is something that should be at the very least considered. I feel like it would promote more people to promote those sections more as it's generally artist from an area they would actually listen too. The current setup is kinda playing favorites with certain artist, and some of them don't even post content anymore and when there's news about them it's just wack s--- about their twitter getting hacked or some stupid s---. This gives the music sxn the ability to be used for general music news, where the area sxn's can be used for singles and s--- for the artist from those areas. @Koolo
Mar 9, 2017 @Final @Coco @tpk @Soldier @Ordinary Joel Someone please give me feed back on this idea, I can't be the only person who doesn't EVER f---ing click on the actual artist threads on the index page and uses only the side bar too navigate sections besides NSFW + Music
Mar 9, 2017 Bad idea because it promotes serial killers like Zep and Nori to actively search for users
Mar 9, 2017 They do this over at radio discussion/TV boards so this could work for general discussion. It could make the forum great, could make it weak... who knows? worth a shot I guess.
Mar 9, 2017 I like the idea but I think Koolo wants to keep our SEO power with the Drake/Kendrick/Eminem sections
Mar 9, 2017 How come though? I can't see how it negatively would effect anything. I'm not at all recommending that they remove the existing sections just make it easier for me to find music and news I actually wanna f---ing listen / read.
Mar 9, 2017 Lmao @ Seo power, Koolo already knows that if he wants anything SEO related he can just f---ing message me and I can help him the entire way.
Mar 9, 2017 Well like OJ just said, we have a ton of SEO power with our artist SXN's. When you type "J Cole forum" into google, we're the first site to pop up.
Mar 9, 2017 This logic makes no sense though if you're not removing those existing sections how would this be effected at all? Imagine getting placed for =================== Atlanta Music Forum Chicago Music Forum Bay Area Music Forum =================== those keywords open up the realm of indexing first for the keywords. =================== Bay Area Music Chicago Music Atlanta Music =================== In my opinion at least, this would in no way be a negative out-look SEO wise for the site in any way shape or form. Could probably even be debated that it would generate more organic users, people who're interested in certain areas so they contribute by posting tracks from artist in that area, those tracks get indexed site moves up in ranking. This seems like a poor reasoning for not adding it, and I hope @Koolo at least considers the above instead of just slapping down the hammer with the 'SEO POWER' excuse.
Mar 9, 2017 idg how seo works but wouldn't more ppl be searching for kendrick forum than atlanta music forum
Mar 9, 2017 Wrong. When you index for the key word 'Atlanta Music Forum' you're indexing automatically for the keywords 'Atlanta Music' also. Indexing first for it will be much harder then indexing for something like Atlanta Music Forum, which probably gets only a couple thousand searches a year but once you start indexing for it, profit.
Mar 9, 2017 ill trust ur word because i have no idea how it works, like i said know any good sites/places to research or learn more about seo? been needing/wanting to learn about it for years now but i've never gotten around to it
Mar 9, 2017 Btw this is the gayest most misleading thread title ever thought I was walking into an exposure or something especially when you tagged me thought you found a photo of me with j*** on my Switch
Mar 9, 2017 You can't just research SEO in my opinion because there's nobody that really knows how the indexing process of engines like google work 100% of the time, in my opinion you can just mess around with Meta Tags and experiment with H1, H2, H3, H4 tags in sequence and see how this effects your rankings. I've heard a rumor that if you include your content wrapped in just a standard <P> tag in HTML that it decreased the chance of your post indexing as fast as if you gave each starting <P> tag a class like <P class="content"> this has never been proven either. Depending on who you ask, you'll get a different answer for how SEO works.
Mar 9, 2017 yea ik they keep that s--- under lock and key and constantly change how it ranks pages. i was just wondering moreso i guess about keyword research and what not becuase like i said i got no idea how ranking for atlanta music forum would make you rank for atlanta music w/o the forum at the end
