Oct 9, 2015 I like Thug, but way to early for this discussion. He hasn't had 1 project on the level of Carter 1-3 or Drought 3.
Oct 9, 2015 Why? Which do you think are as good/better? I've heard Barter 6, Slime Season, and the Rich g--- tape and IMO they aren't on that level.
Oct 9, 2015 Gonna check it out again today, haven't listened to it since it dropped. Regardless, 1 great album still isn't enough to convincingly say or think he'll be better than Wayne.
Oct 9, 2015 I think all 3 of those are at leaaast on par with the bottom rung of what u listed rich g--- is one of the best tapes I've ever heard, period. And you're only gonna enjoy slime season more with time man, trust me lol. I've been sitting with most of slime season for like 6 months already now
Oct 9, 2015 1017 thug, rich g---, barter 6, slime season is an utterly infallible run so far, and most of it is music thug record in 2012/2013/2014 Not to mention his overall discog already showcases more range than we've seen Wayne display to date. And he's like 23. So yeah, he may not have projects that are better than the best projects one of the best rappers of all time, but he's already well on his heels and shows potential to easily lap him. Not commercially or anything but as far as talent and their overall catalogues go? We'll see with time (aka you'll see what I see, in due time, haha)
Oct 9, 2015 Yeah don't get me wrong I think he has a shot, but like you said Wayne is one of the greats. His lack of commercial success is so odd to me. I know Wayne told a bunch of fans to stop listening to him in April, but About The Money & Stoner were huge, I def thought he'd move a lot more on Barter 6.
