Following the release of some on-set images in February, we've now gotten our first official look at Lara Croft in the upcoming Tomb Raider reboot film.

Vanity Fair has published a pair of images of Lara, who is played by Alicia Vikander (of The Danish Girl and Ex Machina fame). One shows her in a jungle area with a knife in her hand, while another sees her near the shore while carrying a stick.
Expanding on the plot details we've heard before, Vanity Fair also shared a bit more about the movie's premise. After the disappearance of her father (played by The Wire's Dominic West) seven years earlier, a 21-year-old Lara attempts to find him by seeking out a tomb on an island near Japan where he was last seen.

"Suddenly, the stakes couldn't be higher for Lara, who--against the odds and armed with only her sharp mind, blind faith, and inherently stubborn spirit--must learn to push herself beyond her limits as she journeys into the unknown," the official description reads. "If she survives this perilous adventure, it could be the making of her, earning her the name tomb raider.”

Tomb Raider is being directed by Roar Uthaug and also stars Walton Goggins (Sons of Anarchy) as the villain and Daniel Wu (Warcraft) as a ship captain who serves as an ally. It's due out on March 16, 2018.
