Dec 26, 2019BoB possibly had the biggest fall off.
Great start to the decade. Had some good songs Airplanes II especially.
I enjoyed Wiz at the start too. But he fell off after Rolling Papers

Every era has a bunch of artists that sound the same and bite each other. We just forget most of them because they don't stand the test of time, and now music is so easily consumable with streaming that it's much easier to hear many different artists.
Back in the day people who hated rap heard Nas, Wu-Tang, Biggie, Mobb Deep and said all sounds the same cuz it was grimy new york rap and they were offended by them talking about murder and drugs and said it has no value.Mudkip, Sav Stanfield, Ordinary Joel and 1 other person like this. -

If you're talking about where hip hop originally comes from are you referring to the block parties of the 70s and 80s that were just about having a good time? Should rappers all strive to sound like Kurtis Blow? Run-DMC? Or is it specifically defined to that era in the 90s where some rappers who focused on creating very heady densely lyrical music became popular for a while?
Absolutely true, you are entirely entitled your own opinion. But like I said, I think you're a bit out of touch. You've said so yourself. Your list of albums of the decade (in the other thread) dont have any albums from after 2015. Hip hop became the most popular genre in the US in 2017. Don't you think you might have a bit of a skewed perspective on what 'real' hip hop is?Fire Squad, Mudkip, Ordinary Joel and 1 other person like this.(This ad goes away when signing up) - Aug 1, 2025
