Oct 15, 2020 Seinfeld curb The office Trailer Park Boys Mad TV / Chappelle show ...tied ...eastbound and down, Arrested development, that 70s show...honourable mention
Oct 15, 2020 "complaining over minor or pedantic unlikely scenarios is comedy" - Seinfeld, curb. Laugh maybe twice per season. Great comedies. Not.
Oct 15, 2020 brooklyn 99??? can't stand parks & rec or big b--- theory either i'd go curb, the office (until s7), south park (until s9), malcolm in the middle, seinfeld haven't seen trailer park boys, i'll check it out
Oct 15, 2020 Could not get past the first episode.. it is not worth it? Seemed like a weaker The Office.
Oct 15, 2020 The first couple seasons are especially horrible—it definitely gets better but as someone who likes the Office who's watched a decent number of Parks & Rec episodes thinking I must be missing something, it's not worth it in any capacity. It just sucks lol.
Oct 15, 2020 Parks and Rec is a strange show. It's first season was bleh and then they changed it all up and it got much better. Seasons 2-5 were good. It's like Office light
Oct 15, 2020 ehhh. so. i feel like, it finds a groove once it loses the michael scott vibes of the first season and adam scott shows up. but u might be right its overrated, and kind of indicative of alot these cheeky wacky warmhearted michael schur productions. office is classic, P&R is not, but i think its goooooooooooood mostly. just not deserving of the cult fans it has. perfectly nice obama era show. like i said, i do tire of the cheeky predecessors it has. havent gotten into brooklyn 99 or whatever.
Oct 15, 2020 I thought the second season was pretty bad too but seasons 3-4 are def way better. I mean saying it's outright terrible is obviously hyperbole, but it just never gets above like "this is fine background TV" to me. Agree with you overall about the warmhearted michael shur shows, but I will say that Brooklyn 99 is leagues better than Parks & Rec. I thought it was going to be horrible—I watched the first episode when it autoplayed after something on Hulu and almost stopped then and there cuz it was awful but I'll give most sitcoms the first season for a chance to find their footing. Seasons 2-5 are genuinely funny and well written. 6-7 have their moments but Chelsea Peretti left and it's definitely winding way down so I hope they end it after this next one.
Oct 15, 2020 am I the only one who thinks Seinfeld is soooo much better than Curb? I always see people link them together(yes Larry David I know..), often even saying curb is better.. To me it's no contest, seinfeld is wayyyy better. The main characters on seinfeld are all great and unique in their own way, most of the characters on curb other than Larry, meh...I badly wanted to like it as much as seinfeld or close to it, but I'm just not seeing it.
Oct 15, 2020 Seinfeld Always Sunny The Office Curb King of the Hill Also, I suppose I need to check out Peep Show. Never even heard of it
Oct 19, 2020 All these votes for peep show got me thinking I’ve been living under a rock. Never heard of it. On the list now.
Oct 19, 2020 It's completely hilarious. And also one of the most consistent comedies and shows ever - they kept the standard high throughout its entire 9 season run.
Oct 19, 2020 Literally the complete opposite to me. Curb's form alone makes it better to me. Seinfeld is PG TV... the dialogue is corny; I know people love the characters and it was new at the time but... to me, even other mainstream network comedies are much funnier. The only really funny aspects to me are the Larry David-isms. His input, his ideas, his stories, his characterizations. All of which are done much better, more realistically, inventively and just... FUNNIER on Curb x 100.
Oct 19, 2020 Trailer Park Boys was okay... Nowhere near a top contender though, it’s the same thing over & over again - basically a background viewing type show.
Oct 19, 2020 I hate how they say how much they love each other 40 times per episode in P&R, even "cold" characters like Ron. Also what the f--- was up with hating Gary or Jerry it was ridiculous and cringe in a bad way For me the list would be: The office (us) Trailer Park Boys Scrubs I have to check the peep show
Oct 19, 2020 Yeah cause there's two writers lol. Big network comedies have like teams of writers. Quality over quantity. 54 eps is still a lot, plus the material is WAYYYYYY deeper, in terms of its execution - the realism, the acting, everything.
