    This is a misconception, he wasn't. Most of SSLP was written in 1997 and he could barely afford diapers for Hailie.

    And MMLP wasn't written or recorded on drugs, which is showed from his clear enunciation and great rhymes.

    He actually wasn't. Most of the songs he made for SSLP were before he met Dre, he was too poor to afford drugs. He'd do ecstasy around 1999-2000, but that wasn't in the studio. Doing drugs recreatively isn't gonna affect your songs since the effect wears off. During the Encore era he was addicted to sleeping pills, sleeping pill addiction has you under effect pretty much all the time.

    Most, if not all of his 1999-2002 songs had substance. Those songs have positive substance, though. But substance isn't what makes a song good. Might make it enjoyable, but if it's not properly addressed, it's not good just because of the substance.

    I don't think you understand what songwriting is tbh, it's not about the verses or the bars its how the lyrics/hooks/verses paint the puzzle with the music. Adele is a fantastic songwriter you see, Eminem is not

    If you're talking about song structure there are still a lot of songs Eminem has under his belt that fit that criteria

    No I'm not talking about the structure of the songs necessarily

    That song is terrible in terms of songwriting, you guys seriously need to learn the art of writing music before arguing it.

    No it's really not, its about crafting a song. Eminem is great at writing verses but when it comes to crafting a good song he's really not. Ye kinda the opposite

    Alright, if you're talking about crafting a song, I would say I Need A Doctor, Guilty Conscience, Kim, and Cleaning Out My Closet come to mind

    Okay you really don't understand so Ill say it like this, Eminem is a fantastic rapper right, I agree. Bob Marley, while not necessarily a fantastic singer in itself, his voice wasn't fantastic, was one of the best songwriters of all time. Think of it like that, thats the best way I can explain it.
