    We thought about putting Thugger on but didn't feel like a four song EP (with three songs we'd heard before it dropped) warranted a "run" as much as other artists who dropped two or three full-length projects.

    I love the EP but I wanted to highlight different artists who'd been putting in work. Trust me, there's a lot of love for thugger on the site already (#1 on the mid-year list) and there will continue to be.

    Just occurred to me that Starlito and Don Trip belong on this list.

    Step Brothers have put out Step Brothers 3 and the Karate in the Garage EP.
    Starlito put out Hot Chicken, Manifest Destiny, and another solo EP.
    Don Trip just put out Free Rory, Free Fletch.

    Pretty productive year for these guys.

    I thought about them as well but I haven't listened to any of their solo s--- this year to be honest. How are the solo albums?

    As somebody who isn't usually as into their solo stuff, I like Hot Chicken and Free Rory, Free Fletch pretty well. I barely remember skimming Manifest Destiny so I can't really give an opinion.

    He's put out HBO, The Spook EP x Knxwledge, and like half a dozen Dump Gawds with Fahim. Worth checking him out. Ex-Griselda records guy so like Westside Gunn, Conway, and Benny.
