    kamasi and thundercat each put out records that were in my top ten. (the former might be the best thing 2015 had to offer, actually.) but the sum of everything, once the record made it to the pressing plant, was a loose collage of half-formed homages that never really coalesced into anything new or anything specific. like, yeah, there's p-funk on here--but it's bad p-funk.

    that's stupid. if you can't "enjoy start to finish" albums that are pro-black, you've got some soul-searching to do. try country.

    the sum of everything is a masterpiece to me, and it features some of, if not the best work of both artists.

    the final work presents some of the most impressive jazz and funk elements, all the essential stuff that influenced the first hip hop albums I fell in love with.

    but it's kendrick's weakest rapping since the ep, and very little of what made Beyond or Epic so masterful makes it on here.

    Nah again you're missing it, cause I can't structure words well. I can and do enjoy some "pro-black" albums start to finish. but TPAB is a mess and I genuinely believe you have to be an african american to get regular enjoyment out of the album. Like I said it's a good album. But i don't enjoy listening to it. it's boring and a mess.

    I don't know about that, all I know is that its his best and most impressive album, musically. It almost made me forgot it was a hip hop record.

    it's his thing. All I asked was "what makes TPAB and S.80 very similar (apart from some jazz samples)?" and he ran for the hills ignoring me with his tail between his legs and half way up his vagina.

    In Australia, we use the word "Derro" to describe dirty/unsociable people. Like drug addicts and homeless or bogans. (not sure where the word originated from, but I believe it's slang/shortened form of Derelict)

    for example using Derro in a sentence would look like;
    "Lol, that guy likes TPAB what a f---ing derro!"

    TPAB because real hip hop :sweatt:

    Jk. I prefer Slime Season. It's a more fun experience overall, and has more replay value to me.
    TPAB is a great album, and in my top 5 of the year, but I'd be lying if I said I felt tempted to listen to it regularly anymore.
    For real or sarcasm? :ohno:

    And the KL EP at least had songs like Celebration, Thanksgiving, She Needs Me, I Am, etc. with some of Kendrick's rawest performance to date

    His voice is hardly enjoyable at this point
