Mar 2, 2016 http://hypebeast.com/2016/3/travis-scott-interview-performing-fashion-fans Hip-hop is the new rock and roll, be it the limelight we cast over rappers and their personal lives or artists’ ability to simultaneously anger and influence so many people around the globe. What has lacked in this comparison however, at least up until recently, is the level of excitement, crowd participation, and even self-sureness between the two genres’ respective shows. That was before I attended a Travis Scott show. A direct result of Kid Cudi’s introspective, psychedelic rap-rock, Travis Scott is leading a new age of rap fans in search of their inner rager. He’s energetic and loud, while juggling anger and regret with some good old-fashion fun. It’s as if he finds himself on every stage, becoming more and more self-aware of who he is, and as a result, so does the crowd. We sat down with Travis Scott just before his HYPEBEAST LIVE performance at Drai’s Nightclub to talk about his off-the-wall concert experience, fans and musical goals. After watching the above, check out our interview with Dria’s Nightclub owner, Victor Drai, here.
