Stiverne II was an uninteresting fight from the jump, but Wilder is a freakish puncher. Always a pleasure to see him sleep somebody.

Well according to his post fight interview it took a lot of work to get up to 185. He did it the right away and at his age it's not easy/smart to constantly keep adding and dropping muscle from 170 to 185.

Not that I think Conor would back down from a fight at 170, but he came into the Octagon against Nate at 170. GSP would smoke him.

I'm pretty sure he intends to unify WW and MW. Hopefully he has to beat Whittaker to earn that. I honestly think he'd be better at WW. You're right though, going back down in weight is universally understood as a bad move in boxing. Most people point to RJJ falling off after his stint at heavyweight. Still, I think GSP is a terrible match up for Woodley looking at what Rory did to him. Whittaker is the bigger obstacle in my mind.

Exactly. RJJ building up then dropping back down ruined him. Look how much bigger he looks compared to Woodley here.

Woodley is deceiving. People always post this picture around:

I think he could definitely look like his old self. He's one of the most disciplined guys around. The question is how it would affect him. It's kind of an intangibles thing. In Roy's case, I think a lot of people forget to take into account his career was mainly about making the most of his athleticism. He was always a fighter who built his game around knowing that nobody could match his explosiveness and reflexes. That's one of the first things that goes. Georges certainly benefited from his raw strength at 170, but as we were reminded, he's one of the most well rounded guys in the sport. I think it could happen, but I'd certainly have questions. It might hurt his longevity the most given that he's 36, but idk what he has left to prove past unifying. Could be a worthwhile gamble.

100% right about Roy. GSP is more professional and I have no doubts he could make that cut again but like you said, how will it affect him long term.

I can definitely see a scenario in which GSP defends against Rob and moves on to whoever has the WW belt and eventually takes on Conor. I think it would be a death sentence for McGregor but I think he has the frame to be a WW.

what a card. I couldn't help but stand throughout the entire main card. the Knockouts from Rose & TJ had me baffled.

McGregor would get eaten alive by most welterweights imo. He'd have to be very picky. Guys like Tyron Woodley, Stephen Thompson, Damian Maia, Colby Covington, Kamaru Usman would brutalize him. I think he'd have more competitive fights against Till, Ponzinibbio, Cerrone, Lawler, maybe Dos Anjos.

Fighting GSP, like you said, would be suicide.

Joanna needs to fire her manager. Rose makes 30K more than her to show? I feel sick.
