Recently, I got into Vinyl again and took some of my dad's old Vinyl albums and combined them with LP's I recently bought.
I have a rather nice, but pretty basic collection atm of LP's of all different genres:

    2014 FHD - J. Cole
    52nd Street- Billy Joel
Axis: Bold As Love- Jimi Hendrix
    Abbey Road- The Beatles
Band On The Run- Paul McCartney
    Double Fantasy- John Lennon/Yoko Ono
    Face Value- Phil Collins
Good Kid, M.A.A.D City- Kendrick Lamar
    Imagine- John Lennon
    Led Zeppelin I- Led Zeppelin
    Maggot Brain- Funkadelic
    Nilsson Schmilsson- Harry Nilsson
    Revolver- The Beatles
Songs In The Key Of Life- Stevie Wonder
    Take Care- Drake
    The Blueprint- Jay-Z
    The Chronic- Dr. Dre
The College Dropout - Kanye West
The Dark Side Of The Moon- Pink Floyd
    The Nylon Curtain- Billy Joel
    The Stranger- Billy Joel
    The White Album- The Beatles
To p---- A Butterfly- Kendrick Lamar
    Thriller- Michael Jackson

Now, do any of you guys have suggestions for me to add to my library of MUST HAVE albums on vinyl??

Already in the process of getting Madvillanny, MBDTF & Donuts.

My suggestion is to only collect CD's. Then again, I'm biased.

    i mean DJing obviously
    vinyls have uncompressed sound quality
plus they're big and cool to look n often come w/ cool collectible s---
and thrifting vinyls is great for music discovery/sampling

i 95% use itunes but i can see the draw in collecting vinyls but i wouldnt spend all that money on it

That's not a good reason in 2017 lel
    Which you can get digitally

The rest I'll give you as far as an actual physical medium to collect is concerned. They're neat looking and I can get the appeal of having them all lined up on a shelf or something, but beyond that, they're inconvenient, wear out in a way digital s--- doesn't, offer no advantage over a digital medium, are expensive, and are technically/audibly inferior to modern digital

man i swear i dont try 2 hate you but you come off as so negative and uninformed like i know so many people that DJ vinyls still why even say this when u clearly have no idea what ur talking about
yeah i mean it is mainly a collectors item i really dont consider myself a vinyl collecter by anyones standards but yuh i guess its like how people collect movie posters, sports memoribilia etc etc. plus vinyls do have a warm sound to them w/ a nice needle you cant replicate digitally plus scratching is fun af

    except it's not uninformed m8

that you know people who dj and use vinyls for it doesn't mean s--- beyond the fact that some people still use vinyls to dj

you absolutely do not need or have to use vinyls to dj. this is a fact

like do you not see how s--- an argument this?
i mean, you absolutely can replicate it digitally, and that's not an objectively better thing either

you can also scratch without vinyls too lol

    obviously

this is like arguing why someone would have a piano when you could have a midi controller

have you ever actually spent time w/ a nice vinyl playing set up and records? its not replicable digitally its just a different experience idk what to tell you again its like arguing why people own pencils when there's tablets and photoshop

I get that it's a different experience, my only point was while it's different, it's not inherently better, in fact, it's inherently not
