Mar 2, 2016 dont deflect this onto the mods lmao. there's literally no proof of Kendrick being signed to Def Jam ever apart from an interview where he says "yeah i was a little" If i'm being serious, the claim he was signed to Def Jam as a recording artist at 17 is shaky at best. If anything he was signed on as some form of helper and not an actual recording artist. There's interviews where he discusses a meeting at Def Jam and that's about it. You can find full rosters of unknown/unnamed artists that were former signee's of Def Jam, but a big name artist like Kendrick isn't? That's odd. Especially considering it'd almost be something to be proud of, "the best rapper currently used to be signed to our label"

During their conversation, he spoke on Jay-Z and being signed to Def Jam earlier in his career.
